Plastic but works.
Just enough thread to install in a colecovision game console for a/v output

Great AV jack for retro consoles!
The pinout of the cable is totally wrong for AV use, but these absolutely do the job without issue. This is how the wiring worked for me to get the output matching the cable colors. I bridged 1 and 2 to get mono out of both speakers.1: Audio2: Audio3: VID4: GNDI think 1 is left and 2 is right, but it didn't matter for my purposes since I was using a mono signal.

Not great appearance but great performance
The nut being on the front brings the aesthetic down. That said, they work great and the solder pins are very durable.

I actually use these to make power ports for small battery-powered things
Some battery-operated things like speakers, pencil sharpeners, and LED lamps can be powered using a 5V DC power supply (e.g. cell phone charger). I get old chargers and connect them to headphone jacks, then wire the 3.5 mm socket to the appropriate wires inside the device, mounting the socket into a hole. I can now power the device using the 5V supply whenever I want to have it running for a long time (or just don't want to use batteries). These sockets hold their place very well, and don't take a lot of space.

Great for adding a new output to an old system
I use these in conjunction with a corresponding cable (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B096DVP5Z6) when I'm adding composite video outputs to old video game systems that only had RF output. This means you only have to put one smaller port on the system instead of three larger RCA outputs, making it more pleasing aesthetically and more easily reversible if some collector wants to restore it to factory condition later.

Great for all sorts of small electronic projects
An inexpensive small pin count connector for low power applications. I'm using this to connect sensors to a monitoring system.

They work, unlike the other ones that look like these
Took only a few minutes to solder, but they work perfectly.

Some Quality Issues
Overall decent quality. I did, however, have problems with nuts fitting the barrels. Would buy again but would reserve a few extra nuts just in case
