PERKO SCUPPER Valve Assembly

The rubber things in two old scupper values in the transom of my boat become hardened after many years. Moreover, debris like small pieces of leaves got stuck in the values and kept the rubber values in a partial open position. After weeks stuck in the partial open position, the rubber things becomes permanently deformed. I decided to replace the rubber things. Unfortunately, the rubber things cannot be replaced alone, I was forced to buy the rubber things plus the plastic flange.The Good Things:1. It is a "drop in" replacement of the existing scupper valve. I don't need to drill new holes for it.2. The installation is easy.The Not So Good:1. The rubber thing of one of the scupper valve loses its elasticity after one day, and now it is stuck in a partial-open position. (The rubber thing of the second scupper valve is still OK). It still works to prevent water spray from getting into the boat. But I would have liked it better if it doesn't lose its elasticity so quickly.

Fit perfectly. It has a five year guarantee I wish I would’ve known that before I replaced the old ones they were probably covered under their guarantee! Great product.

Decent product, but both flap and mounting ring are prone to sun damage. Unlike other scupper designs, it requires regular replacement to function as intended. If it were constructed of better materials, I would rate it highly for its simple, compact design.
