Thumbs up for f56 mini
Works well, simple to use. Performed battery registration for 2018 f56s mini. Click on the "bmw" button at the menu, not "battery", gets you to battery registration.

Does SOOOOOOO Many Things others Didnt
I dont waste my time writing click bait reviews but this product was far, far, far more than I imagined..... It does "normal" OBD stuff but also critically gives specific info for my vehicle type I thought could require some $500-$600 scanner to get (example Mini Footwell Module, an expensive problem if you have it). it also resets batteries, oil change or service intervals snd does a far, far deeper dive into codes than my one generic to all vehicles. It found like another 15 codes that flagged at least once in 10 year old vehicles lifetime but once reset, havent come back in 9 mos. Car drives perfectly, so obviously NBD. Another example? When I replaced by battery rather than pay someone $130 to "reset" things, I found all it resets is date of replacement. Who cares what date unless a warranty claim and thats what paper receipt is for. If battery is bad, its bad. Replace it you dont get home. Simple. Only thing i wish it had was a TPMS reset for tire sensors. But with 10 year old vehicle, its likely a code is a dead battery and only way to fix that is replace the sensor for $25 rather than spending $50 to find out its old. it also gives general OBD scan codes for other vehicles. I saved my buddy $175 by diagnosing his check engine light with more specific"cylinder 6 misfire" preventing mechanic from replacing his MAP sensor which was wrong diagnosis, period. If/when I get different car, I'll buy another one specific to that type as its just sooooo valuable to figure out codes in literally under a minute rather than taking to someone who will charge you $75 to open the hood.

Useful tool although instructions could be better
This was just the thing I needed to register the new battery on my Mini Cooper after installation. The instructions were pretty vague so it took a few minutes of messing around with it to figure out exactly how it worked for this task but once I figured it out it was easy. Great value for money, as I was able to replace the battery on my own (which is overal a pretty easy task) and not pay the dealer or a mechanic to do it.

Great tool with many functions!
Great tool for many usages. I bought it to register a new battery on my 2014 X5, and it worked like a charm. Easy to use and without trouble. Great job.

Registered Battery on 2017 Mini Clubman!!
The battery in my 2017 Mini Clubman S died. Not only are the batteries more expensive than standard ones (glass mat), you have to disassemble a third of the engine bay to get to it. There are many videos showing you how to do it step-by-step and it’s not difficult but you just take your time to do it. The surprise comes after you put the battery in and find out you have to “register“ tye battery. This tells the car’s computer not to overcharge the battery with the alternator. If you don’t register the battery, you can fry it and possibly damage the electronics in your car. None of the automotive stores in my area had the scanner to register the battery. I did some research and found this one online and bought it for under $100. There are online tutorials on how to do this with the specific scanner and it’s relatively easy. It verified the battery was registered within a minute. This also allows you to see codes and clear many of them.
