SCRUBIT 24 Pack Natural Sponges - Biodegradable Compostable Cellulose and Coconut Natural Sponges for Dishes, Eco Friendly Non Toxic Kitchen Sponge

I bought these after reading that the big name sponges (Scotchbright, etc.) are made of plastic. I quickly envisioned bits of plastic going down the drain, some of them microplastics which are not filtered by sewage systems and would then enter the ocean, adding to the pollution. I expected these sponges to perform worse, but it was a tradeoff I was 100% happy to make. And to my great surprise, I'm still on sponge #1, and its performing every bit as well as the ones I used to buy. I run it through the dishwasher every time we wash dishes, and it has come out in perfect shape. I use the scrubbing side for tough cleaning, and its every bit as good as the plastic ones. And, doing the math, these sponges are cheaper than the plastic ones from the big names. So, what's not to like? Ecologically-friendly, great performance, and cheaper... I'm a convert. (Oh, and these are compostable when they finally do fall apart; my county runs an industrial scale composting operation that will get temperatures high enough to break down this sponge. So there's no waste, either.)

I really like these sponges! They scrub well, and are pretty durable. They do not scratch my teflon, and work well on removing stuck on food from pan bottoms. I like the green appearance with the brown coconut. They are a good value for your money, and it is nice to have them in bulk on hand. They are machine washable, and I have not noticed any weird smell.

I may have to cancel my subscription to these sponges, used then for years, but the last batch came wrapped in double plastic and the size is significantly smaller. I also question if it’s the same material because the rough side is a lighter shade. I buy these for eco purposes, so having them come in plastic defeats my purpose. I’ll wait to see the next order, but I’m very disappointed if this is the new normal.

These sponges are the bomb! They hold up better than any household name brand. The best part is THEY STAY CLEAN! I don't know if it's because of the plant-based material they're made from or what?! We used the first sponge for two weeks and it looked just as new as it did when we pulled it out of the package. This has never happened before with any of the store-bought sponges we've purchased throughout our entire lifetime! They have a bright green, spongy natural cellulose side, and a brown, plant-based sisal scrubbing side that works well for our enamel coated cookware. I can honestly say I will be a lifetime purchaser of these sponges simply because they are plant-based, they hold up well, they don't stink after a few days - of even two weeks, and they look like new after two-weeks of continuous, hard use. I also like that they come in Earth friendly wrapping: brown paper...no plastic! HOORAY! KEEP IT UP AND I'LL BE A CUSTOMER FOR LIFE! THANKS FOR CARING ABOUT WHAT YOU SELL! 💕

I've used these sponges for the last 5 or 6 years and have loved them more than any other. UNTIL NOW. (see photos, larger sponge is the size it used to be. It was hard to get a good photo of the WxH comparison, photo makes it look not lined up, but it's just the angle, they're corner to corner in the photo.) The company, without any notice, changed this product. Not only are they smaller HxW, but the thickness is also smaller. What a SCAM! I'm heartbroken to have just found this out, and I will certainly never purchase these again. The sponge is so small now that is barely fits into your hand, which makes washing the dishes even harder now. It's terrible value for your money, and seems more cheaply made than before, making the durability worse. I cannot recommend these anymore and urge you to find a different product, hopefully from a company with more integrity.

The clean great and don't smell bad after multiple use

These are not the same as what I previously received when I have ordered in the past. They are smaller and thinner. Don't fit the hand well. I would give four stars because they are still okay, but when I order the same thing..I expect the same thing.

What happened? These sponges are significantly SMALLER, thinner, and come wrapped in plastic! The quality has decreased. They are less effective. The value for money has dropped since the overall value has declined. I’ve been purchasing these sponges for years and this is really disappointing.
