only if you sleep with a pillow between your legs then it will get wet.

Q: Does the zipper go all the way around the encasement making the top easily removable or is the zipper at one end only?

Jem50, it’s three sides at one end of the mattress: the zipper covers one (short) end completely and then goes about a quarter way down each adjacent side. (I wish I could draw it for you. I hope that helps.)

Q: Is the top of the mattress cover soft just like your sheet feels? Does it feel like plastic covers like ones you put on couches?

Soft. Not like cotton sheets. But certainly more like sheets than like plastic couch covers. That said, it doesn’t feel like it’s made to sleep on. As other answers have said, it wants a fitted sheet over it.
