Beados Starter Pack

This has been 1 of the most fun crafts my toddler and I have done together! The bead pen is wide enough for her 3 year old hands and she's totally excited she can do it herself. The templates are easy to put together and she matches the colors pretty well. The little tops keep the beads pretty self contained and we like the little funnel that was included. Amazon was WAY better for price compared to Toys R Us where we found the add on fairy kit I originally purchased. It comes with a few templates along with the little trays to hold the beads, different colored bead bags and the spray bottle. The more water you spray to set, the stronger the design will be but the longer it'll take to dry. We do the suggested spray front and back, then let set overnight before playing with them. They're not the strongest things, they can flip flop if shaken, but when put upright in the kits they stand in the suction cup. You can also use a string to hang them up in your windows! My daughter likes making them for her family and friends. With all the different color combinations, there's no end to all the possibilities and fun! Recommended for busy littles!

This was the ONLY thing my 5 1/2 year old daughter specifically requested for Christmas so despite the mixed reviews I ordered the Starter Pack. One reason I love reading Amazon reviews that along with the good and bad you also learn a lot of tips! The most important thing is to FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS EXACTLY. Really and truly only use 5-6 sprays of water even though it doesn't seem sufficient. The instructions even say to use the paper design template to lift up the design when it is dry and that was a huge help. When we tried to peel the design off the form with our hands, it was problematic, but when using the paper as a spatula to "scrape" it up, it worked like a charm. Finally, because I read the reviews I was mentally prepared for the small size of everything! I will say that there are exactly enough Beados to complete each design template, but just enough so don't lose any of them! Plus, if your child decides to free-form a design then you won't have enough beads to do the included designs. My daughter really enjoyed this and I'm glad we purchased it. She did complete all of the designs in one day which then leaves you with nothing left to do but order another kit! I was hoping to order just a multipack of Beados, but they are rather expensive so I went ahead and ordered another kit. However, we can't endlessly order kits so this may become a special occasion purchase. If you have a crafty kid and a couple of hours on an afternoon to fill, then this is definitely a good purchase.

My daughter (7) was thrilled to get this for Christmas. The pen thing is not the easiest to use so my daughter preferred to use a pair of my tweezers to place the beads. TIP: you have to make sure the beads are thoroughly wet in order for them to stay together & then must let dry without moving it in the process otherwise it will fall apart. My daughter doesn't seem to have the patience for drying time so make sure you put it somewhere out of reach to allow it to dry completely. Otherwise the set is pretty cute with plenty of beads. We purchased a little organizer from the jewelry section of a craft store (or a rainbow loom organizer) to organize her growing collection of beads.

My 8yo got these for her bday. She and my 10yo loved making the Beados figures and were able to do this project independently. The pen in the starter pack was really helpful. The finished product is adorable and seems to be holding together without any problems (much much better than I expected after seeing some reviews that they fall apart easily). We did allow them to dry for longer than 30minutes.

Great concept and my 8-year-old daughter worked at it for awhile, but she quickly lost interest and hasn't touched it since. The pen is really difficult to use...sometimes it will place the bead gently into the correct spot but other times it will spit it out forcefully and it goes nowhere near where it's aimed? It can knock other beads out of place and then to get them back in the right spot is difficult because they are so small and nearby beads jostle/dislodge easily when trying to place them back in the design plate. She had to completely start over a couple of times when that happened. Using your fingers to place to beads is also difficult because of the small size of the beads and how close the holes on the design plates are. We sprayed our finished designs with water and let sit for extra time to make sure they were dry and sealed. When dry they are bendable and very pliable. She is very careful with them but they don't seem like they would stand up to a lot of play. Probably would not recommend this item.

Can you say magic?? I have no idea how just water makes these beads mold together but it does work! The pen is really cool, although for some reason my daughter likes to put the beads on with her fingers. This is a starter pack that comes with everything you need. I bought a container with dividers to store the extra beados from Dollar Tree.

Not user friendly!! I am greatly disappointed. What was suppose to be a fun time turn out to be frustrating. The beads are not preloaded so they have to be put in the pods one or two at a time which takes forever! The beads come in plastic pouches that can not resealed unless you tape or staple them (there are not enough pods for all the colors so the left over beads have to be put back in the pouch) So bottom line, my grand daughter lost interest before we even got started because the prep took so long. The parts that you do get are quality/sturdy.

Beados was are a wonderful idea for a young crafter. Purchased for a six year old who loves completing projects, beados was a perfect break between Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays (toys). It included everything needed to make small figurines without battery power or electricity--water is used to fuse the beads. The product was well packaged and received on time.

My 5 year old enjoyed this...bought a refill pack as a birthday gift thinking it would have all the accessories need to make it... But it didn't.. Had to buy this starter pack from Amazon. Package arrived on time.. My kid really loves making these.. we dry it overnight and then spray on other side too.. So far they are still intact. But the only problem is with that pen... Gets struck most of the time..have to shake each time while using..

Very costly

It is as per specifications. but every now and then the beeds get stuck in the pen which is irritation and losses the fun...so kids lose interest also
