Polaris C55 Plastic Wheel Screw Replacement for Swimming Pool Cleaners 180, 280

This plug was a perfect fit for the polaris 280 however prime was 6 days getting it to me.There was another post saying this plug was a "special size thread". I had a tap and die set and measured the threads. The threads aren't a "special" thread. They are 5/16 thread 18 thread count 3/4 inch. I bought some at the local Lowes Hardware store for $0.42 each. They were 304 stainless steel with a hex head. No more breaking these things off as these plastic heads are so fragile. I ruined two others just trying to get them loose.If you want to save yourself some time and money go to the local hardware store and ask for 5/16 -18 hex head 3/4" long stainless steel bolts and you'll never have to buy these things again!!!!!

Best $7 spent on a screw, ever! Late last season my Polaris 180 slowed down to a crawl. The thing is probably 14 years old so I thought it was toast. Got a wild itch and a quick google took me to troublefreepool's forums where one user, in an old thread, suggested that one of the internal hoses might become disconnected and cause this issue. Low and behold that was the issue with my unit. Putting everything back together I noticed on the 3 wheel side the smaller wheel wasn't making great contact with one of the larger wheels. So I went to swap it out with the wheel from the single wheel side. The very last turn the old screw breaks off. New screw worked like a champ and my little minion is racing around the pool again! Saved me $1200 dollars as I was eyeing a new robotic sweeper that I almost pulled the trigger on. Like I said, best $7 screw ever!

This is the Polaris original part so you know you have the right part and polaris makes you pay dearly for it. One might be tempted to use a brass or stainless screw that will never break as this part does but.....it is a non standard thread so I do not recommend that.

Our original screw on the front wheel broke after 7 years. It's only plastic after all. This is a little tricky to screw back in but is the right size, etc.

not much to say about this screw. old one broke off the wheel and this replaced it perfectly. Don't know how long it would of lasted though, replaced the cleaner with a robotic cleaner. Best purchase for our pool yet.

Fit perfect with no issues with simple installation. All parts are new and genuine , they were all delivered in a short amount of time.

Hey Pool Zoom - how about more specificity in your description of this product "THIS PACKAGE CONTAINS ONE SCREW". If I had realized what I was getting for this price I would have reconsidered my purchase.
