We tested this, and it works best if 15 feet or less, while it may work at longer distances it depends on many factors such as other RF interferance, enviroment, buildings in the area, and other things that effect RF signal. This is a low cost RF toy, if you want more range a more expensive RF vehicle would be the best choice, similar to the ones hobbists use. These vehicles run in the hundreds of dollars, with some having fuel based engines, and scale speeds in excess of 100 MPH.
