Q: Do they release cubes easily?

They release very easily if you push on the silicone on the bottom of the tray under each cube rather than twisting the tray. I have arthritis in my hands/fingers and have no trouble getting the cubes out.

Q: Does this work well for saving purée baby food?

No there are no markings for FDA or LFGB on packaging which means seller likely lying. Seller also claims item is silicone while the packaging only lists non-silicone plastics. Would not trust that these are food safe.

Q: Is every aspect of these trays including the lid silicone?

Only the green reservoir (bottom) of the trays are silicone. But if you are silicone-adverse, that is also where the water rests in the tray. The silicone bottom allows one to pop out an ice cube, or however many one specifically wants, without having to "crack open" the whole tray. I am very happy with the product, and with the lids, they can be stored or stacked very conveniently in the freezer.

Q: Are the lids leak proof- so water doesn't spill out?

No. They are not leak proof. I made sure my lid was on and secure. I typed them a little too out then in my freezer (I'm a little short, so I have to give a little reach for the freezer) and water came out. Not a little, but a lot.
