2MP 0.01Lux Webcam Varifocal 5-50mm Lens Zoom USB Camera

I wanted a replacement webcam for Zoom/Teams meetings, and this does the job very well. As the camera is "plug and play", and having the ability to adjust the aperture, zoom and focus means that I can position the camera for optimal image capture. The image quality is much better than my laptop's built-in camera, and the overall experience is more professional.

(I'm reviewing the 1080p H.264 0.01lux webcam) I've been trying this out for a few days - it took me a while to get sorted because this camera definitely needs a decent stand (no realistic way to bodge-fix it to the top of your monitor like there is with normal webcams). Once done, getting it zoomed and focussed just the way you want takes a bit of doing too because it's all manual, and you're likely to have to sit a little distance away from it, but that's hardly difficult to deal with. FWIW, I've got my camera on a stand about a feet behind my monitor, and angled so that its view "skims" over the top of the monitor). Once connected to the computer, you get a pretty nice picture - not actually as sharp as it might be. It's hard to compare, but my Logitech C920 probably has a better picture. However, the reason I went with this camera is because of the zoom and consequent depth of field. The Logitech had me looking quite small, with lots of my room on show. Now, using almost no zoom at all, I'm on video calls as head and shoulders only, much less of my room on show and the background is slightly out of focus (so possibly a little less distracting for viewers?). I paid a little more for this particular model (although right now it's on a limited deal to be the same price as the others) because I wanted it to work in low light. Most cameras struggle in low light and it's hard to light yourself sufficiently well at home (unless you go big into lights), so I thought maybe a low light camera would compensate for my lack of pro lighting. Honestly, it really doesn't at all - without bright lights, it's definitely a bit "dim", even with the aperture wide open. I get the feeling the camera has no in-built processing (others definitely do - in an attempt to make them look better), and the output of it responds well to some "brightness" adjustment on the computer. One thing to note is that there is no "on" light on this camera, so it's hard to know if it's working without seeing the actual video stream. There's also no light you could use as a tally light, if that's something you need. All said and done though, this does a decent job of being a webcam for video calls. I'm not sure I'd use it for making high quality video, although it has got miles of zoom, so it might find uses in bigger halls or whatever. It's good, good enough for me for sure, but it's not awesome - but for the price, it's competing with the likes of the "webcam" market, not pro video.

The lense is okay, can see some imperfections at certain zoom/focus levels but good enough for a 1080p image. It can zoom crazy far and even provide pretty extreme macro shots thanks to a crazy wide focus range. For specific use cases it could be fantastic. Colour reproduction lets it doen. Inconsistent and often blue, using for conference calls can make you look like a zombie. I have combined with an rgb led lightsource so I can force the colour science to 'reset' and it does pickup skin tones after a few tries If it had a way to fix or adjust the white ballance it could be perfect. obviously colour can be fixed in certain applications, but sadly not in most video conference platforms.

Great webcam and lovely clear picture. Good zoom for portrait-like video calls. But, if you are photographing yourself, be prepared to use a long arm or a friend to operate the controls, which are manual and located on the camera itself.

Expensive for a camera that produces such a poor quality camera. It is very sturdy, has a useful tri-pod thread and handy zoom, but very low quality and very dark image. I binned it and bought a cheaper camera with higher spec.

If you have ever used any photo or video equipment this will drive you mad. Focusing ring is marked backwards so infinity symbol is macro and "N" is for infinity.

Zoom in feature turns the colour grey.....all washed out! Terrible

I like the fact it has possibilities and I look forward to using it with an adapter with my telescope as well as the old style photographic lens used on SLR's. I'm not expecting amazing results but experimenting before purchasing something more expensive. Manual zoom and focus are pretty stiff and I hope with a little more use they might free up.

Ich habe mir diese Kamera gekauft, da ich sie als Webcam für Videokonferenzen einsetzen möchte. Mein Problem mit herkömmlichen Webcams (und der im Notebook verbauten Kamera) sind, dass diese extrem weitwinkelig sind. Wenn der Abstand zur Kamera mal größer sein muss, dann sieht man zu viel Umgebung bzw. gibt es ein Problem, weil nicht jeder einen Greenscreen in der Größe eines Fußballtores hat. Diese Kamera löst das Problem perfekt. Man kann an der Kamera manuell Brennweite, Blende und Fokus einstellen. Sie hat keinen Autofokus - wie einer meiner Vorredner schon meinte, ist das aber bei Videokonferenzen eher ein Vorteil als ein Nachteil, da man selten den Abstand zur Kamera ändert. Manche anderen Rezensenten meinten, dass die Kamera etwas frickelig einzustellen ist. Das kann ich nicht bestätigen. Natürlich ist das Objektiv kleiner als bei einer Vollformat-DSLR; von da her ist eben etwas Fingerspitzengefühl angesagt. Aber an sich sind diese Einstellaufgaben problemlos zu lösen; die jeweiligen Einstellungen lassen sich auch mittels der Stellschrauben fixieren. Das Gehäuse ist solide aus Metall. Ich finde, dass sie den Einsatzzweck "Webcam mit Zoom" voll erfüllt und bin auch mit der Bildqualität und Farbwiedergabe zufrieden. Problemlos auch die Installation - einfach anstecken und die Kamera läuft an einem Windows-Gerät.

Zunächst das Positive: Das Teil hat einen echten optischen Zoom. Die Kamera sitzt bei mir oben auf dem Bildschirm in ca. einem Meter Abstand - vielleicht etwas mehr, wenn ich mich zurücklehne. In den ganzen Videocalls kann ich den Zoom so einstellen, dass wirklich nur ich zu sehen bin und nicht mein ganzes Zimmer, wie das bei den anderen Webcams üblich ist (die loben alle ihren Weitwinkel - keine Ahnung, wer das in Corona-Zeiten braucht). Jetzt die Kritik: die Farbwiedergabe ist exterm schlecht. Haut wirkt eher grau. Außerdem ist bei geringem Lichteinfall (normal mit Lampen ausgeleuchteter Raum) kaum was zu erkennen - auch wenn man die Blende voll öffnet (ja, die Blende ist manuell verstellbar). Wenn man die Blende im anderen Extrem betreibt (ganz geschlossen), erhält man warhscheinlich noch auf der Oberfläche der Sonne klare Bilder :-). Traurig an der Sache ist, dass ich das Modell genommen habe, welches den besonders lichtempfindlichen Chip verbaut haben soll (war 15...20 Euro teuerer als das normale Modell). Wie ist denn die Bildqualität bei wenig Licht dann beim normalen Modell?? Fazit: Da es zum Zeitpunkt meiner Anschaffung die einzige Kamera war, die über einen optischen Zoom verfügt und die im Bereich bis 100 EUR kostet, habe ich das Teil behalten. Der Zoom war mir dann wichtiger als die Bildqualität. Und wenn draußen die Sonne scheint, klappt es auch ganz gut. Wer auf Farbechtheit Wert legt - Finger weg.

Die Kamera hat an für sich einen guten Sensor und kann das Bild gut erfassen. Allerdings ist das Objektiv in so einer Qualität, dass nur Mittig das Bild scharf wird. Ca. 60% des Bildes ist unscharf und am Rand ist nicht einmal mehr zu erkennen was abgebildet wird. Bei FullHD sind das ca. 800x440 nutzbare (scharfe) Pixel. Der Rest ist unscharf Vor allem in den Grenzbereichen des Zooms (5mm oder 50mm) geht eher das brauchbare Bild auf 20% (in der Mitte) herunter. Bei FullHD sind das dann ca. 400x250 nutzbare (scharfe) Pixel Daher Elektronik vielversprechend, Objektiv nicht brauchbar!
