Great value, get ready for an education
Seems to be a very solid, flexible transmitter. Be prepared to learn much about the world of open-source software if you plan to stay current with updates. Readily able to be done, just take your time and begin learning how to use Youtube to learn about a new tool. The Radiomaster web site is very helpful as well.

Great transmitter and probably the best on the market
I ordered this when my Spektrum DX9 finally failed after 7 years of hard use and the new Spektrum NX10 was not available. The DX9 is being discontinued and the Spektrum NX10 is $500. The Radio Master TX16S has more channels and features than the Spektrum and mine works great. The transmitter allows you to fly just about any receiver available and binds easily with Futaba, Spektrum, FrSky and many others. I has a large real color screen and the firmware coming soon will allow touch screen operations. It is not as plug-n-play as the DX9 nor does it have WiFi capability like the NX10 does but is less than 40% of the cost. The cons are it is a more complex radio to program things such as mixes, flaps, etc. But, I love mine and I find using OpenTX Companion desktop software make programming easier. Overall this is a great transmitter in my opinion regardless of the cost saving. It does not come with a battery so add about $25 to the cost when comparing radio costs.

LCD screen can't be seen when outdoors and no option to move the trainer switch to the left side.
Overall this is a great transmitter so far but it has one very major glaring flaw. I used polarized sun glasses when I go fly. They are prescription glasses and I need the extra protection from polarization. When I have my glasses on I simply just can not see the screen it is completely dark and makes the radio unusable. If I rotate the radio 90 degrees I can see the screen fine but now everything is sideways and makes it very hard to navigate or do any changes on out at my local flying field. This is such a major flaw I'll wind up not using this radio for my daily flying. Sort of shame since I like the radio otherwise. Then my 2nd gripe which is minor and I can get used to in the long run is the location of the trainer momentary switch. It is on the right side back of the radio. I'm very used the Spektrum line of radios where that is a push button on the left back shoulder of the radio. I'm also sort of surprised there is no push buttons on this radio as well. I typically prefer push buttons for my ignition cut off switches.

Very nice radio
This is my first real radio so I have nothing to compare it to. I did do a lot of research before buying it, and am pleased with this purchase. From what I understand it is about the best radio you can buy in this price range and will bind with many different quads. There are many good YouTube videos extolling the virtues of this radio.

Assembly QA problems
The transmitter arrived with an issue: it was impossible to plug in a USB C cable because the top plate of the transmitter was partly blocking the port. This was because the front and rear halves of the case didn't line up perfectly, and the case wasn't fully closed. This kept the top plate from centering correctly over the port. This was easy to fix. Then I found that the SB switch wasn't working. I never found the reason for this; it started working again after I pulled the plug from the board and verified continuity of the cable and function of the switch. I hope the problem doesn't come back...

Solid Economical Investment
Flown with this Radio Control for a few weeks now with my FreeStyle multirotor. Controls feel confident and predictable. No noted jitter or anomalies during flight. I'm quite happy with it. 👍 And it has multi TX protocols too. Looking forward to the touch screen update when OpenTX releases it. Batteries not included.
