Book content is great. Amazon shipped a paperback book in a bag… so of course the first book was damaged. Then sent a replacement… still damaged, just not as bad as the first. Really dumb shipping decision on their part

I like this author a lot and have read most of her stuff, so this review is clearly biased. This series features a strong female lead and a sweet romance, but also a strong plot. These are common elements in her stories and this series does not disappoint. The world building is creative and interesting. The secondary characters are engaging and developed. All around, this is a great series and I look forward to the next volume.

It is a habit far worse than you might imagine."My heart ached so much for Kyutaro and related SO much to him that I felt tears forming when reading about his pain and his heartache! *sobs* It reminds me of just a year ago I was ignoring my feelings and being strict with myself that I fell very hard into depression and felt I was worthless. When Kyutaro tells Fumi that it's okay to heal other people, but that HE shouldn't be the one getting healed, I felt that on a DEEP level that felt a reflection of something I've felt and believed too. Seeing the softness in his expression throughout this volume (you know, when they are not fighting or having bombshell info dropped on him LOL) made my heart soar and want to cry at the same time because I loved seeing that for him! <3But man that ending. I don't even know what to say right now. Fumi was right on the mark when she felt something huge would happen, and boy did that happen! Even greater than seeing the Genbu lizard kicking butt! Lots of secrets are finally coming out and feel I'll take a break from reading for the night (maybe?) to process everything because that was A LOT!

I've been following this mangaka and her other works for a while. And she's never disappointed me.
