I live in a cabin in the Virginia mountains. The first book was an incredible resource and inspiration, both with interiors as well as exteriors. This 2nd book is good, but not even a fraction as useful for some reason. My first book has bookmarks and notes ALL over it, whereas this one only has 4 pages marked. If you want one definitive and useful cabin book, just buy the first. If you just feel like a nice coffee table set, get both

I can't say enough good things about this book! We are in the midst of designing a 1700 sq ft "cabin" in Colorado. I bought several cabin design books for ideas, and this one is by far the best. In part this is because our taste leans more towards a modern aesthetic, vs a rustic log cabin style, which is what this book is all about. Page after page after page of gorgeous contemporary get-aways from all over the world. I've got post-it notes stickered all over, and have even created a cross-reference for our architect. If you are looking for ideas for a contemporary cabin, this book is a must have!

Lots of pretty pictures in here, and little content. Heavily skewed towards the ultra-modern, minimalist aesthetic; was hoping it would be more diverse and useful. I returned the book.

I found this issue to be way too stark and modern for me and returned it to Amazon.
