Viki 2 Graphic LCD Screen for 3D Printers

Wonderful graphics, nice large knob, indicates heating or cooling with LED ring around knob. I would so like to use this on my printer... However, after receiving the item, and it's non-existent instructions, I managed to get the unit installed, the Marlin code edited in 3-5 days. I have to admit, it was educational, and I taught myself many new swear words... The problem is that with some 3D printers, the Viki2 will cause the printer to 'pause' every time the LCD display updates, which is normally every second. This is not only annoying, but tends to ruin your print since your filament still flows while the print head suddenly stalls. I got on all the forums, found all sorts of work-arounds, but none of them removed the 'pause', it just stretched the time between the pauses, which still screwed up the print... So Viki2 now adorns my shelf, and their tech-support apparently are not interested in solving the issue. Last I heard, they were blaming the Marlin firmware for the issue. I'm back to using my RepRap 128 x 64 smart controller, which isn't quite so elegant, but it also doesn't have a 'stutter'. I suggest you do not purchase this device unless you are either sure it will work on your 3D printer, or you don't mind gambling...
