Q: will they help an old mans [88] balance or at least not make it worse?

Bought these for my dad who is 79 years old. He doesn't seem to have any balance issues, but he did tell me, after he'd had them several months, that these were the most comfortable shoes he'd EVER had. He absolutely LOVED them.....so much, that I'm about to buy him another pair right now! Try them. Like someone else said in prior comments, if you don't like them, you can send them back.

Q: Does it have good arch support?

No they really don't have arch support. I added a good quality memory foam insole to provide support. But the Skechers have fantastic springy soles, providing exceptional cushioning on hard floors. Most comfortable shoe I've found.

Q: So does the fact that they are taking over a week before they are even shipped means that delay is added to the try before you buy time?

I thought the time starts after confirmed arrival date

Q: I ordered a pair, 11 eee. these were to big for me. my other sketcher shoes, all size 11. these fit well, i wanted a slightly wider shoe?

As stated by a previous review, I ordered size 11 eee wide and they were much to wide. No free return from the supplier so I kept them.
