They can make 1/2 lb burgers. When stuffing, we use just a little bit less to hold the all the goodies inside the patty.

Q: How much meat does one burger usually consist of? Are we talking 1/2lb or 1lb or what?

I would suggest total burger weight (not counting filling) of about 6 to 7 ounces. Any larger and you will overfill the press, while smaller won't fully seal in the filling so it may leak when cooking.

Q: What is this press made of? Plastic? Metal?

The burger press is made from heavy duty BPA FREE plastic.
