Q: Do these beans come roasted fresh from 49th Parallel and have a decent roast date from when you order them?

Hi there, Thanks for your question. Yes, they are freshly roasted at 49th Roastery in Burnaby, BC, Canada and on the bottom of each coffee bag, you will find the roast date! At 49th our coffee quality is of utmost importance. Our coffee is nitrogen flushed and vacuum sealed, as long as the bag remains unopened there will be almost no deterioration in quality up until about the 4-month mark! Thanks,

Q: Which of the 49th Parallel roasts is suitable for a superautomatic espresso machine?

Thank you for the question! Any of our roasts will brew well on automatic espresso machines but we recommend darker roasts coffees for a no-fail experience such as our Old School Espresso (medium-dark) or Swiss-Water Decaf Espresso (medium-dark).
