VERY TASTY and Recommended
These are really tasty.. The cloves add a bit of uniqueness and they are not too hot.. I recommend these sardines. I will buy these again.. but a suggestion: Take any can of sardines, drain them and add your own sauce.. lemon and ground black pepper, sriracha, mustard what ever.. your fish will have a cleaner, fresher taste.. enjoy..

Great flavor and value!
These hearty Moroccan style pilchards are canned very similar to other more expensive and popular brands. However you will find the spices and olive oil in this tin have been placed there purely for flavor. This isn’t “spicy” like flamin hot. This is a spice blend you can taste that leaves you nice and warm. Some tins may have a few scales, but that is no problem when you consider the flavor and price. Wonderful fish!

A solid sardine!
I bought these to compare to Nuri's Spiced Sardines which are like the industry standard for quality and value.I think on Amazon these are a bit too expensive and would recommend shelling out the extra dollar for a tin of Nuri's. Currently with 5 sardines for $18 that's $3.60 while Nuris if you buy them in a 10 pack are roughly $4.60. I think these are quite a solid contender against Nuri's if you can find them locally or cheaper. I've purchased them at specific markets for like $2 and at that price I'd be eating them more frequently. On the sardines themselves; they can have the occasional scale so be careful. They aren't the most visually appealing tin but I don't judge a book by its cover. The oil is pretty well flavored but unlike Nuri's I don't think I'd sop it up with bread. It does have a good flavor, I wouldn't say they are too spicy even as a midwesterner. The fish has a pretty good texture and holds together well. They aren't unpleasantly fishy, with a clean smell, and are nicely meaty. I found the cans easy to open but it's very rare for me to meet a tin I have trouble with. Overall they're an above average sardine! I would never turn down a tin of Flower's sardines but if shopping on amazon I would pay the extra $1 a tin and go for Nuri's.

Best Spiced Sardines
I think these are very easy eating and maybe the most interesting flavor profile among the canned sardines. Some more expensive brands are really good (super clean, mild, generally inoffensive), but as less expensive brands go these are great. In addition to the sardines themselves, the olive oil seems pleasant & clean and you get some bonus items including a bay leaf, some cloves, a hot pepper, a carrot slice and a pickle slice. I eat everything including the bay leaf which is pretty soft. The bay leaves, hot pepper and the cloves really create the unique flavor profile. Honestly just writing about these sardines is making me want to crack a can open. In so far as other reviewers are concerned, I have not experienced any offensive large scales. Maybe I just got lucky with my batch of 50. IDK.

Meh, a bit sloppy
Not a fan, tones of scales , stomach/guts still in the fish. A bit much for me as I'm new to sardines. Taste ok, just seems like a lower quality product. Prefer nari/wild catch to this

Good Value, Great Flavor
These are delicious. I've been getting them a few years now, and they're near the top for my favorite canned fish. Nicely spiced, and it's different than just about anything you can get off a standard market shelf. If I had a complaint, it's that the fish aren't attractively packed in the tin. Pull the lid off, and you aren't immediately filled with joy seeing how it's packed, but the flavor is first rate, and that's what really matters.Anyone that likes canned sardines or herring should absolutely get these to try. They're unique, delicious, and nicely priced. Take away appearance, they'll stand with any boutique brand from Portugal, and won't drain your wallet.

Too expensive for 5 cans
Very good but I think it's too expensive. I realized that after I bought it and compared it to local stores. Way cheaper like 1.50 a can.
