but apart from that it's great. I am not sure about the blue-tooth
It is exactly what one needs for studying and working constantly with quotes (I'm a literature student). Very effective and time-saving, some small bugs (sometimes when it reads a hyphen the scan freaks out and puts a long list of chinese characters in the page, but apart from that it's great. I am not sure about the blue-tooth. With the cable works perfectly, with the bluetooth sometimes it turns off for no reason and I'm afraid the battery life is not that long, so maybe just go ahead and by the old version (but I havent tried it, so i don't know if they have improved the software too in this one). One problem: bad customer service. It took them 5 days to contact me back and the answer was a copy-paste list of instructions. All in all, it has changed my life as a student, so if you are tired with copying quotes or not being able to underline library books, this is a perfect solution.

Quirky product, unfriendly software, horrible support.
At first glance, this looks like a neat product. When the package arrived, I was surprised to find no installation media and no installation instructions whatsoever. On to their website. Not the friendliest site around and, strangely, they want you to request access to the download section. Once you get around all that, find your model and download the software and installation guide. The installation was not straightforward, at least on my PC. I had what seemed to be some driver compatibility issues, so I opened a ticket to their support desk. That's the only way to "get support" - open a ticket. No chat, no phone. Your ticket gets acknowledged via an automated email and then you just wait. After a few days, I got a reply with some meaningless questions. By the time we had gone back and forth a few times, I had found the answer in Google so I told them to close the ticket.A few weeks later, the software stopped working with an expiration error - even though I had already registered the software using the key provided in the package. So, I opened another ticket. After the automated email confirmation and waiting a few days, with just a couple of days left in the return window, I'm giving up and returning the product. Thanks, Amazon for such an amazing return policy. As for IRIS? Not so amazing - quirky product, unfriendly software, horrible support. Skip this one and go for a different product.

Not worth the price
This product doesn't work really well. I thought it would save me time with block quotes, etc., but it takes as much time to scan and correct as it would rekey the quotes and citation.

Great product!
Great product!!! Scans very accurately with hardly any typos. My text is all different sizes and the very small fonts are also recognized well. Easy to use and works smoothly with both my laptop and iPhone. Perfect for daily life and studies.

Do NOT buy. Doesn't work on a Mac, and is slow & buggy on Windows.
I used one of these over 10 years ago (2004), and was impressed. So, I purchased a new model when I needed to do some studying for certifications, etc But, unfortunately, the quality of the software has gone so far downhill, this new product is completely unusable. On a Mac, the software doesn't load...and when it does, it never recognizes the input from the scanner. And, the software won't let you register it...and, when you email customer support for help, all they can give you is a Windows activation file. So, if you use a Mac, it's useless. On Windows, it's slightly better, but not by much. After you use the activation file from customer support, you can actually register the product. But, the OCR transcription is horribly slow and inaccurate. And, trust me, I used one of these for 2 years back in 2004-timeframe...I know how to hold the pen & to regulate its speed, etc. But, the new one is just...S..L..O..W..and I spend twice as long fixing the OCR than if I had just typed it myself. So, even on Windows, this product is a bust. Incredibly disappointed. Oh...customer support knows there's an issue with the Mac software...they think there's fix coming, but have no idea if/when it'll be released.
