great art, meh story
As flawed as this series is, I'm sad to see it end so quickly. I would've liked to see more of Bucky's odd adventures in space, minus the insta-love with a random alien princess. The main story did reach a conclusion, it didn't leave on a cliffhanger. But with so many possibilities in space, they could've taken this a lot farther. But I can understand why it wasn't very popular, as it's odd and not the usual superhero fare. The art remains gorgeous in this volume, and I hope to see more of that style someday.

Beware
I bought this series expecting an action packed story with The Winter Soldier aka Bucky fighting monsters, aliens, etc. Instead I got some barely comprehensible drawn out romance peppered with pacifist violence and art that resembles a crappy LSD trip. If that's what you want, go for it. Otherwise, don't waste your money.Oh, and Old Loki is in here for some reason.

Wow, Kot managed to do worse the 2nd time
Plot holes big enough to land a helicarrier in. Absolutely no action. The heroes foil Lokis plot with an off panel punch. Characters miraculously return to life a la the end of Billy Madison. The disadvantage of bad digital books is that you can't even use them as toilet paper

Two Stars
This comic was really weird. I miss Ed Brubaker.

Insulting to Put This Out After Brubaker's Winter Soldier
Either no one told the writer anything about Bucky or Winter Soldier...or they literally didn't care what they put on paper. The writing on this series is trash. Just awful. Even if we pretend this isn't Bucky, but some new character...its just god awfully boring while trying desperately to be artful. It basically reeks of something written while high as a kite that seems enlightened, but is actually just bad.The art switches between two styles on the extreme ends of the art spectrum: first an elevated style, very painting-like, but EVERY. SINGLE. PAGE. is a double spread monstrosity that is painful to review, there is so much crammed into it. The second style is terrible Adult Swim style cartoons. It's SHOCKING that this was given as many issues as it was.

One of the worst comics Marvel has ever produced.
Bucky Barnes has no business exploring the multiverse. He, Daisy Johnson, and Crossbones are spies not astronauts from 60's era science fiction novels. I couldn't even tell you what half this book is about; that's how badly it's written. Crossbones creates a handgun planet. That's probably the dumbest sentence I've ever written about a comic book. I've read a few books by Ales Kot now and I've decided he's just a crap writer.
