Fantastic dishwasher safe non-stick pan
Updated review 11-29-17: The newest version of this pan has given me reason to re-write my entire review and I can now highly recommend it!The reason I was interested in this pan is because I wanted an every-day non-stick frying pan that could go into the dishwasher, and one that didn't have any harmful chemicals in the non-stick coating. That is very difficult to find! I initially tried this pan a few years ago and although I was happy with its performance, the non-stick coating would separate from the pan after a short time. Frieling actually listened to my issues and worked with me to replace the pan, and they recently sent me the newest version to try. It appears they have completely resolved the issue of the coating separating from the pan.As for performance, I am really pleased with the pan - it fries up burgers, fried eggs, sauteed veggies, etc., and then goes straight into the dishwasher. I believe you can use metal utensils in the pan because of the stainless steel being raised up higher than the non-stick coating; however, I still use only silicone in the pan to keep it in its best condition. The non-stick performance is excellent; however, don't expect it to work like a traditional non-stick pan. Because of the stainless steel, you need to make sure you have at least a light coating of oil or fat in the pan for your food not to stick. If you will be disappointed because you can't put an egg in a dry pan and have it slide out, then this isn't the pan for you. But I haven't had any issues with food sticking as long as I use oil or fat, and it is certainly much better than an all stainless pan.The folks are Frieling couldn't be any nicer or more helpful; they genuinely care about their customers' happiness, which seems rare these days, and they definitely stand behind their warranty!I attached some photos of some beautiful fried eggs, and some smashed potatoes - microwave baby potatoes until tender; smash and fry in your pan with ghee (or your fat of choice), add sea salt and fry until crispy on outside - so yummy!

Great quality!
I got a 12 inch pan last year and loved it so much I bought the 11 inch one recently. These pans wash up beautifully and my favorite thing is the handle doesn’t get hot on my gas stove like other pans do. These are expensive but worth it. It’s nice to have it stainless, with safe nonstick under the fine grating design. I don’t like older Teflon that can flake in your food. This is a nice heavy bottomed pan that doesn’t warp. I love it and tossed all my old ones!

Excellent at what it's supposed to do
I've only had this for a few weeks and so far I absolutely love it. Let's be clear, this is meant to be a "browning" pan and just happens to be one of the first that has a non-stick feature as well. So please people, use this pan for what's it's designed to do. Stop trying to rate it based on it's ability to fry an egg or cook an omelet, which shouldn't be browned and are best cooked in a flat non-stick surface pan. You need different types of pans for different situations, that's just a fact. So don't buy a whole set of these and think you're done. Instead think about what situations you'd be doing browning and buy the right size of this pan for that. It's does an excellent job searing meat, stir frying veggies, cooking hash browns or any recipe that requires a bit of caramelizing of brown bits to make a good sauce after. It gives nice crispy edges without the hassle of cleaning my usual browning pan option (the old stainless steal or the cast iron). The raised stainless bumps on this pan will get dark brown as food the food cooks, but they clean off easily with one of those plastic scrapers and then I still wash mine by hand with a soap brush. It says you can put it in the dishwasher, but this 11.5" pan is pretty big and would waste a lot of dishwasher real estate, so I still prefer a quick hand wash. It still looks 100% brand new, but it's early. Time will tell if it ever starts peeling like other reviews have noted, but I kept my receipt and original Mfr warranty part of the packaging just in case, since they offer a full replacement if that ever happens. So far, I am LOVING this pan AND the 11.5" size is sweet. It appears well built and is much lighter than my Calphalon 12" fry pan. I've never had a problem with the handle getting hot.

Great idea on paper, not so much in practice
Very well-made. Rivals professional quality. The tiny raised points are not coated with teflon. They aid in even cooking, but food sticks to them. Not enough to be a problem for scrambled eggs, but you'll ruin an omelette. There's enough of them to make cleaning more difficult than a typical non-stick pan. Also, they became permanently darkened after only a few uses. Not a problem for me, but your opinion may differ.

Top notch product, made by Frieling.
I have owned several of Frielings' products for many years, and have never had an issue. I own several types of cookware. I use this frypan nearly every day, making eggs, Monte Cristo's and/or our supper. I have heavy weight stainless cookware, but sometimes I did wish I could find one that is non-stick. Frieling came up with this wonderful Black cube line. This is a beautiful, highly polished exterior, medium weight frypan, with the black cube on the bottom and slightly up the sides, exactly where you might have scorches. I have only hand washed this pan and the food releases easily. I have only used silicone and wood utensils on it, although apparently you can use metal, I'm just not willing to take that chance. The ergonomic handle makes this frypan easy to lift and I've not had any issues with heat transfer to the handle.Bottom line, is that I do own several of Freilings products, and I have never been unsatisfied, I think it would be impossible to find fault in their products. My French Press coffee pots are heavy weight, we do miss the glass, but it doesn't shatter. The filters can be found on Amazon. My frypan has earned it's place in my home. This manufacturer is one you can count on for making very high quality cookware, and I very, very highly recommend it.
