Great for school lunches!
This is the perfect solution for sending hot leftovers with my daughter to school for her lunch! After 7 years of sending her with cold lunches, she started to get bored and this was the perfect fix! I can now send her with dinner leftovers, soups, pastas, and so much more! You can use one level for hot and another level for cold and we haven't found that the hot layer warms the cold layer at all. And it is so easy to take apart and throw in the dishwasher when she gets home from school to have it ready for the next day. Highly recommend if you want to shake up your kids' school lunch options.

Great school lunchbox! Not insulated, but I've accepted shapes like these will never be.
The media could not be loaded. Why I use this: 1) my kid loves it and 2) I usually pack a main hot dish and snack items that need to be cold (like cheese), so this multi-tiered lunch box allows me to pack them separately.Ease of use: This set works great for my 3rd grader who has never had any issue opening or closing the set. I made sure she tried it out the day before I first gave it to her so she knew to always align the clasps before snapping shut the lid. I showed her how to easily open the clear inner lids that might be suctioned from the heat of the food (open the valve first, then place thumb on side of metal bowl and use fingers in the middle of the clear lid to squeeze and tilt the lid open).Backstory: I was looking long and hard for a insulated lunchbox that has stainless steel inside with clasps for closure (for easy opening, since twist off caps are too hard for her to open alone and her school requested lunchboxes that kids can open on their own). Understandably, I finally resigned in knowing such a thing does not exist. Unless it's a hard-to-open Thermos jar with a twist top, no other food container is going to be able to hold it's temperature for 4 hours (it takes 4 hours from start of school and lunchtime). It's not feasible, because it would need to be heavy and thick from insulation all around the entire container and lid, plus hard-to-open to keep its vacuum/suction and temperature, like the Thermos containers. I realized most lunch boxes rely on the lunch BAG to be insulated and help retain the temperatures (either cold or hot, but not both at the same time, obviously). But most included "insulated" bags are just foil lined and thin (like this bag), which doesn't do anything, really. You'd have to get a seriously thick and well insulated bag to retain temperatures, but this lunch box shape doesn't really fit in those bags and wouldn't fit into a school backpack. So, this lunchbox has everything I wanted, except the insulation.Bag: As stated above, it's a thin, foil-lined bag. It doesn't keep temperatures well, so it's not really insulated. But it fits the lunch box perfectly and it fits in a school backpack (with no other books).Utensils: Not a fan of the slide-to-open utensil case types. We use a different brand utensils case and utensils.Capacity: I measured exactly 2 cups of water into one of the lower bowls up to the indentation where the the clear lid presses down to. I didn't measure the top bowl that has the handle top lid and might be a slightly less capacity.Durability: Been in use for 1 month every school day and no mishaps so far.Stains: The stainless steel bowl doesn't stain, but as expected the silicone rim around the clear inner lid will be stained from tomato sauce. I'm used to that from other lunch boxes with silicone rims, so this wasn't a surprise to me. It also doesn't bother me since its just aesthetics.Cleaning: I hand wash it every school day and its easy to do so. They are just bowls and some lids.Insulation: As mentioned previously, this does not have any insulation properties. Nor does the thin, foil lined bag that comes with it. I heat up the main dish until screaming hot, then pack everything up (hot food at the bottom, cold snack food in top tier). Depending on the food and density, that will affect how long it stays warm. When I packed a lot of hot rice dish, it was reported as "slightly warm, slightly cold" 4 hours later. Other meals, like Swedish meatballs w/ egg noodles or spaghetti, are reported as "room temp/cold" by the time it's eaten. Thankfully, my kid is fine with room temperature food. For the top tier where I put cold snack items (like cheese), I place about 5 frozen reusable (BPA-free) plastic ice cubes (that are filled with purified water) next to the cheese. For that snack, we only need it to be chilled for just 2 hours for snack time and the cheese was reported as "cold, just as if it came straight from the refrigerator and the the reusable ice cubes still had some ice floating in them, but were totally defrosted by lunchtime 2 hours after snack time". This is just a small solution to keeping the cheese at the food-safe temperature for 2 hours. For me and my kid, this lunch box works great! For those looking for their food to be at a stable hot temperature, look for Thermos jars, because you won't find anything in this easy-to-open style that can hold its temperature, despite their "insulation" claims, unless you find a really good super thick and heavy insulated lunch bag to go with it.

Worst lunch box with bad quality.
Worst lunch box, Never recommend anyone to buy this product as it has most of the insulation in plastic and the lock is in cheap plastic. 1st day of my son school he couldn't open the plastic lock and its broken fixing it and seen that it lost the hotness. By the way the carry case is another worst product handle is torn off when the strap is stuck in the bus itseams.

Cute, but does not keep food warm
The set is adorable, and perfect for a 14 year old girl who cannot use a microwave at school anymore. However, it did not keep her food warm. She said that her rice alone was cold by the time she was able to eat (3 hours). A bit disappointed since these would be used as a thermos.

I wanted to love it..
I so wanted to love this container, but after using it twice the lock clips had already broken. Food doesn’t stay warm until lunch. The idea for this is great but the product not so much 😖

Terrible product
Absolute Rubbish- I paid such a high price and actually got a better one for 30$. It is flimsy, difficult to open, not insulated.
