No. It cuts a 5" square of fabric. Using a 1/4" seam, it would finish at 4 1/2" square. 5" square is the standard size for prepackaged charm squares, so this die would make the same size.

Q: What size is the die itself?

I think the die itself is 6" X 12", but it cuts 2 squares 5" each.

Q: Why is it at an angle instead of straight of grain?

They are set crooked to make the die blades slide under the roller more easily. You line up your fabric's grain with the lines of the die blades, not with the sides of the die. Think about a square. If the blades are set straight into the die, when you roll the entire front blade will be cutting fabric at the same time. When that same die is angled, there is pressure on only a portion of the front blade at any given moment in time. Makes it easier to crank through.

Q: Does this fit on the Cuttlebug?

No, it is a 6 inch wide die. Only the 5 inch wide accuquilt dies will fit in the cuttlebug. Look at the board size or the size cutting mat it needs, and if it is a 5, you can get it to work in the cuttlebug. You will need to use several accuquilt cutting mats to get the right grip.Thanks,Oren
