After much searching, I finally found a food that was good for my mbuna cichlids. At first I was kind of sceptical of the whole "cool dried" thing. You know, how do they know there isn't anything bad in there that wasn't killed by the cooking? Well, I'm not sceptical anymore. I've been feeding it to my African cichlids for 6 months now and they are doing very well. Their colors are vibrant, they are growing fast, I don't have any health problems, and they LOVE the food. I definitely recommend this product.

My fish are doing great. Growing healthy and bright. They love this food. I bought it for my cichlids, but started feeding my other fish as well. I don’t know if this is contributing. My other tanks were being fed store bought flakes. Those tanks are overrun with algae. It’s terrible. My cichlids have algae, but much less. More of a normal thing. I am wondering if the food has played a part in it. I just started feeding all tanks this food. We’ll see if there’s a difference.

I've been using products from BSD for years now. The addition of their cold cook method for making food seems to be outstanding when it comes to locking in the favor and nutrients for the fish. My dog will literally dance on her hind legs the whole time I am feeding my fish tanks begging for this food. You may think that means nothing, but I still use several different food sources, BSD is the only one I feed that she comes running once the lid is open. That tells me, along with the way the fish go after it, that the stuff is fresh.

Very large flakes that I use to feed various salt water fish in my reef aquarium. Good value and fish loves. Seems nutritionally they rival pellets.

All my fish love it, though they don't seem to like it as much as Formula 2 flakes by Ocean Nutrition. My purple tang instantly started eating lots of it, my clowns and cardinals took a few days to really get into itI do prefer to feed different ingredients than the ones that make up a large part of these flakes (ingredients are always listed in order of quantity used in recipe), however, it's not really an issue at this price point. Flakes are big and don't turn into powder like others AND you get a whole pound of it for less than $20

My Altum angelfishes love to eat this food like crazy

It seemed like a great formulation...at a GREAT price! My Mbunas in a 150g tank which are food junkies..will eat it...but with a great deal of hesitation. My community tank with Tetras will go up...try and eat and swim away leaving a great deal of waste in the tank. If they eat it later is beyond me...but in the 10 minutes I stand in front of the tank...they avoid it. It's definitely firmer than most foods I feed them. The pieces are sharp and rigid...and I was actually quite impressed with the flake size.... But the guys don't agree! They go to the flakes...try and eat...but ultimately swim away and let it sink to the bottom..where my Plecos come into play. I think it is too hard and firm.
