So worth it.
Wonderful game in itself, plus the expansion which adds loads of new features and stuff to do. Loads. That's how Expansions should be, not like expansions or "DLC" that adds one or two minor things for $2.00. But enough about my personal gripes with games these days. This game is amazing. It has the combat style of Dragon Age with the perspective of Diablo II and the artistic feel that no other game besides this can manage. Even when you finish it, if you own the first two games before this and have them installed, there is a modding community that had released the "Legendary Mod" for Dungeon Siege II, Allowing you to play those last two games IN Dungeon Siege II. So, all in all, hours and hours of content with fairly complex character building. Very pretty environments, graphics that hold up rather well even today.Long story short? Get it. Get it now.

NO CD KEY IN PACKAGE!
I got the game from J&R Music and Computer World through amazon, It did not come with a CD Key, so I Cannot rate the game. All I have now is a set of 6 Coasters for my drinks. The box looks nice though.

Not as good as the first game
Not as good as the first game, but not terrible either. Plenty of better games on the market for the same price these days.

An underrated experience worth having
When Dungeon Siege 1 came out, it was a whole new way of doing RPGs - the what-you-do-is-what-you-become character development, focus on action, good multiplayer and great graphics for the time made it a niche of its own. Dungeon Siege 2 is very much the same type of game with a few enhancements, which earned it some harsh reviews. It adds very little to the core gameplay of the original, except in one important area -- story. DS1 was a simple hack-and-slash with a threadbare story. DS2 has an involving tale (very Tolkien-esque) that gets you into the game and gives a reason to kill the next wave of endless monsters. In addition to a full story, there is less appearance of linearity this time around, and it feels like a much larger and involved game world with a rich history, warring factions, and various races. It is a lengthy game with quite a bit of good content and more options on customizing your team of characters.

TEDIOUS
I assume that I, like most folks who play computer games do so for fun. This game is really no fun at all which is a shame since it does have some good ideas. Unfotunately, these are completely spoiled by the tedium of much of the game. First of all, the camera perspective swings wildly as if it were being contrlled by a monkey on LSD. No fun. This camera stuff makes it difficult to focus on the enemies who are after you. Which brings up another point. You are always surrounded by foes who have at least twice the amount of life that you do and there are always many more of them so the only tactic you can use is hit and run over and over and over and.... No fun. Then there are lots of complex puzzles which are extremely difficult and really make the game drag. For me, I like games that flow, not ones which require lots of tedious problem solving. I have problems in my own life which I MUST solve, I do not want more riddles when I am trying to have fun. I found this aspect of the game so irritating that I turned to an on-line guide just to get through it. No fun. But for me, the worst feature of the game is the length of time it takes to fight some battles. I kid you not, one battle tookfour hours to complete and I got no credit in terms of experience for it. No battle in a game should take more than half an hour let alone four. This was so tedious that when I could no longer stand it, I saved the game and went on with my life until I could resume the tedium. Much to my dismay I foung that when I returned, I had to begin all over again. Although I was eventually able to finish, I was done with this game. No fun. The only reason I gave this tedium any stars at all is due to the beautiful graphics and the interesting character choices. None of this, however makes up for the tedium and slow pace of this game. I found it frustrating and irritating, not fun.

Not fun in the long haul
Not a bad game the first time through. As other have mentioned, there are three difficulties and after you beat it once, you just play the whole thing again but with one more party member. I thought that doling out one more member each time through was a little weak. Why not start with six? Any way, the second time through is all right, but the maps become familiar and there are no surprises. The third time through is downright mechanical. I think the game at this point should be called "left click." I found myself just chewing through monsters waiting to get items that were slightly better than the ones I had so that I could chew through slightly tougher monsters. With the plot already revealed twice, the third time through is pretty much pointless. I found myself finishing it out of principle, oh and to see how many sets I could get together. The biggest bug in the game I found is that all of your party members often do not like to fit on lifts/elevators/gondolas/etc, which makes for some very aggravating time wasting. How hard could it be to ensure that all members get on the same lift? That was really weak. The bottom line is that the game gets extremely flat very quickly. I don't mind mashing buttons and watching characters grow, but it is just that. The game is rather beautiful, but by the second and third time through, the thrill is gone and the beauty fades.
