Fun escape room-style activity
This was our second EXIT game and our first at a level 2. Our first one was a gift and was level 3 so we decided to try a lower level before we kept moving up with levels (figuring it would be more entertaining to do the lower levels while we were still new to the games). Level 2 was definitely easier and the puzzles were more straightforward but I think they are still challenging for someone without puzzle or escape room experience. Things we noticed: - 2 of us completed this game. While it says more players can play, many of the puzzles can really only be done by 1 or 2 players. Additional players can help with brainstorming but not everyone can physically do every puzzle. - The level 2 was more linear. Level 3 seemed much more multi-layered - Keep in mind this game can only be played once and items get destroyed in the process of solving. This point will help you not only solve puzzles but also give you an idea of the cost value (which is still extremely low compared to an actual escape room)

Very fun and challenging.
These EXIT games are so fun and challenging. My family and I play them as brain teasers. On average it takes us about 2 hours with 2 people but it varies in how quickly we solve each puzzle. We love that you can only play through once since the game book becomes a part of the puzzles

Great introduction to EXIT games
This is a great introduction to this game play - I really love these games and if you’re interested in an escape room in a box game, the Exit brand is my favorite. They are always very high quality and use everything in the box. Highly recommend if you want to work on keeping your brain agile.

Reminds me of Choose Your Own Adventure books
This is my first EXIT escape room game, my first was the Professor Puzzle Escape from the Aquarium which I loved! EXIT is different in that there are no scratch cards to see if your answer is right or wrong, instead they have a set of cards that match the number that aligns in the wheel code. The cards remind me of “Choose Your Own Adventure books”, telling you immediately if your answer is correct or not. These puzzles are not easy, and directions many times are literal, so it can be a bit of a toss up if you understand their directions or not. I would try another one of the EXIT puzzles, but so far I have liked my Professor Puzzle aquarium puzzle better.

Our first Exit game!
This was our first Exit game and it was an enjoyable experience! Of all the games, this one in particular had an appealing theme to for the three of us. So at least if we didn't like the way the game is, it would at least have an enjoyable theme. Overall, the game was fine, and I have a green light now to get other Exit games (as they go on sale). You can go on Youtube and find videos where the different Exit games are ranked...or you can do what we did and just pick the one that appeals the most. We did not do AMAZINGLY well, but we did OKAY - 8 stars. We spent a lot of time on maybe just 2-3 puzzles. One puzzle we knew what to do...but just didn't see it...my husband still doesn't see it. I was looking at the wrong side, so...if I had been more systematic I would have figured it out sooner. One clue...the wording was weird and we still don't get it. Maybe it was a red herring? If it weren't for one of the clues, we MIGHT have figured it out without the solution. Just don't throw out ANYTHING before starting the game - the shrink wrap is O.K. to toss. But just the shrink wrap, which is the clear plastic covering around the box assuming you buy it new.

We love these games!
We absolutely love these games! I think we've played five or six of them now, and our 12 year old loves to play with us as well. You can play with just one or two people or more. I think 3 or 4 has been the most fun and comfortable. They are just tricky enough that you feel very challenged, but easy enough that if you spend the appropriate amount of time and get the hang of the clues you can solve it. If you like escape rooms, you will love this game. I love to keep a handful of them with different difficulties in the closet for rainy days. At first I was a little bothered that you could only play each game once, but they are good for at least two or three hours of fun. We usually take breaks to get snacks and end up talking about the game and rushing back to try to figure it out.

Try a different exit game
I too struggled with this one. Got the novice because I wanted a fun, fairly short, game to play on my birthday. Had 5 people, looked at over 10 hints (and some solutions) and spent over 2.5 hours. Definately felt dumb, lol. First level hints are worthless. About 3 of the puzzles I really liked. Rest were confusing or boring (IMO). For some puzzles we were on the right track, but didn't quite make it across the finish line, like the mirror puzzle. I was really hoping for more story to the game, but the story was just find next code, find next code, find next code. If you can make very extreme jumps in logic, then you might enjoy this one more than we did.

I saw these EXIT games in the lobby of an escape room we visited. So I was curious on how a little box could actually hold a whole escape room experience. My review is not for this edition per say, since we have not done it yet. But it's the 4th EXIT game I buy. They are really fun. Well made. Surprising. We were quite skeptical at first, but are now sold on them. Perfect when you don't want to dish out the 100$ (cos of course us parents pay for the whole family!). At a fraction of the price, you get a whole evening of fun. So for a family of 4, it takes us a good 2 to 3 hours to get through one. The first one was a little longer since we had to comprehend the whole process... but the concept is relatively the same in each one. But, there are always new twists and surprises in each one so it never gets boring. I would highly recommend to anyone who likes escape rooms or even for someone who wants to try it before going to an escape room... get you brain trained to think outside the box.
