Q: is this product organic?

I’m sorry, I do not know if they are organic. The package doesn’t say they are but they were very good for simmering in cider and this bag was a great value!

Q: Are they food grade quality?

Yes. Best when used in recipes that are baked or heated in some way to release the oils/flavor of this type of cinnamon.

Q: I added 40 crushed cinnamon sticks to a 5 gallon brew. Not a lick of cinnamon flavor came through. What does that say about these sticks?

Perhaps you didn't leave the sticks in your brew long enough. I used under 1/2 pound of these sticks in a 75-gallon batch of seasonal spiced wine we sell at the winery and had nice cinnamon flavor after 2 months. We also use these for our mulled wine we sell. Two sticks per half gallon of mulled wine in a crock pot for an hour is delicious.
