Amazon Brand - Happy Belly Chocolate Sandwich Creme Cookies, 14.3 ounce (Pack of 1)

I bought a package three weeks ago (May 3, 2024) and was pleasantly surprised. Not too sweet and yet familiar enough when compared to Oreos. (I'm mentioning Oreos as a comparison because that's what most customers want to know.)1) Taste is excellent, surprisingly enough, for a generic. Tastes like a mix between Oreos and Hydrox (if anyone remembers the latter). Not mind-blasting sugar compared to Oreos and yet enough chocolately taste still bursts through.2) Cookie size is smaller than Oreos but not a deal breaker because there are more than 14.3 ozs. in each package. That's a lot of cookies.3) Texture is more crumbly than Oreos, so don't be surprised if you get some broken ones if delivery is via a padded shipping bag.4) Pricing right now is strange. I paid $2.59 on May 3, 2024 for a package. Exactly three weeks later, the price jumped by more than 180 percent to more than $7 per package! I know the price of everything is going up - but this is odd. I was going to buy more - (they're that good) - but I held back seeing the jump. And I've not yet read a single returning customer mention this.NOTE: I did learn that you can still get these for under $3 - but only through Amazon Fresh. Good luck if you don't live near one. I hope the price hike on the flagship Amazon site isn't permanent. Maybe it has something to do with shipping costs because some customers have complained about broken cookies and no doubt Amazon is figuring out a way to keep customers happy. Just putting this out there.Cookies are very good for the price and a good alternative to Oreos except when Oreos themselves go on sale and actually beats the price of these.

Just like everything happy belly, these are quality made, have a unique taste, and really just open your eyes to something better compared to what you normally get.The chocolate is very rich and has depth, almost like a nice dark chocolate, the creme filling is sweet, but not overpowering, they mix well and don't compete with each other flavor-wise. Love the combination, goes great with my coffee in the morning.This, along with the animal cookies, peanut butter sandwich cremes, and even the all purpose flour, have seriously won me over from the regular store brand stuff. Great tasting, cheaper, and they all have a slightly unique taste to them.

I thought it would just be another Oreo rip-off, but it tastes pretty good. Amazon did good with this one. I would give it a higher rating, but it is just a cookie. Not much to say about it....

They aren't quite Oreos and they aren't quite Hydrox. This agood thing. They have a crispness to it like the old Hydox cookies (not the reboot). There is more chocolate flavor that is wonderful.My container had a few broked by then edges similar to what you would get from the grocery. It was shipped with several other items (Frosted Cheerios, Happy Belly cereal bars) that looked crushed. The boxes are so flimsy, they were probably crushed by the person packing the box. Not a big deal.I prefer these over Oreos any time. I miss the old Hydrox cookies. Taste is subjective, but I highly recommend these. I should say these taste bad so there is more for me.:-)

Let’s just straight up compare - Oreos are the og! I bought these bc they were cheaper. These are physically smaller, and the chocolate has a slight stale taste to it. They are absolutely delicious but do not compare to Oreos. The cream is creamer than Oreos, but you can taste the oil. Not sure I would buy these again now that the price is higher.

Great price on these cookies very good, enjoyed these cookies. Fresh and yummy.

I liked these, and would purchase again, when unable to get out of my drive in winter, but they just don't have the flavor of Oreos.
