Doom: Eternal (PS4)

This game is fantastic. The difficulty can vary widely, forcing you to learn how to become a better player. Weapon modifications, glory kills, secrets, and vastly changing difficulty levels keep you coming back. I nearly got disheartened when I came to a couple points I just couldn't beat, even on only the 2nd difficulty setting. Ive been playing fps games since Duke Nukem 3D, and I'm accustomed to using a mouse and keyboard, so this is definitely challenging; however, it does make you a much better gamepad FPS player. Pro tip: keep moving. When you're having a hard time, try running a path and just destroying whatever appears in front of you. If you stop for too long, you're dead. Use the dash manuever to escape if you get mobbed. It reminded me of the COD Zombies game strategy - get them to chase you, destroy the ones in your path, periodically turn around to launch a few grenades at your entourage, and you'll find you do a lot better than trying to find safety. There are no safe spaces in Doom Eternal! :D Demons take actual damage as you go through battle. If you're facing overwhelming odds, don't try to kill them all at once. Do some damage then run! Chainsaw a few easy demons to restock your ammo, then get back into the fight. There are definitely fights too big to handle all at once. Do some damage, run, do more damage... rip and tear until it is done! This game is awesome.

The PS4 copy I bought came packed with instructions in French, not a language I am fluent in. However, the game was in English so no return on it. The disc was flawless despite being a used game. Many reviewers are complaining about the difficulty of Doom Eternal saying that it is filled with cheap kills but I don't see that it's cheap at all. To them I say, stop whining and play on the easiest difficulty. The gameplay is classic Doom and the graphics are amazing so I would recommend buying Doom Eternal if you are a fan of FPS action. Slay on!

I bought this as soon as I finished Doom 2016, but was massively disappointed that they changed so much from Doom 2016, and not in a good way. For example, there is something from with Doom Eternal when a melee attack does NOT kill the weakest enemy in the game (the zombiemen) after more than five melee strikes. Whereas with Doom 2016, it was possible to melee the basic enemies and kill them after one or two strikes. So then, what's the point of the melee attack if it isn't effective with even the most basic enemy? That's just one example, but overall there is a misbalance between the weapons available and the enemies you encounter. Also, the game feels less like horror/sci-fi and more like horror/mario bros 1.

Very cool game and all in all good graphics and if you played the old DOOM on PC the this is the game that takes the cake and if you are looking for a challenge then DOOM Eternal is the game to play and a lot of new Demons are added which makes it more fun and challenging from the Caco Demon to the Arachnitron to the old Imp which is some of the hardest thing to kill.

Es un gran juego para la Estación de Juegos 4, no lo pude terminar por falta de tiempo, pero lo que he jugado es bestial. Lo único malo es que solo he podido conseguir esta versión que es la uk y eso sí que es una condena. Aunque podría ser peor y comprar la versión alemana eso sí que sería una condena eterna, estoy seguro que por ahí no pasa ni el marino del juego.
