Great Entry Level Festool Sander
If you're a first-time buyer wondering whether a premium sander is worth it—stop wondering and just get this one. After years of hand sanding and a decade with a corded Harbor Freight sander, I finally upgraded to this Festool model. I wish I had done it sooner. The difference is night and day. Not only is the sanding incredibly smooth and precise, but the built-in dust control is amazing. Even using just the included dust bag, there's almost zero mess to clean up afterward. One of the biggest surprises? How quiet it is. I can use it early in the morning or late at night in my garage without disturbing my family or neighbors. It's easy to use, high-quality, and makes sanding cleaner, quieter, and far more enjoyable. If you're serious about getting great results with less hassle, this is the sander to start with

Worth the money
I had to hem and haw over spending this much on a palm sander but i can truly say that the dust evacuation is way better than my ridgid brand sander. It’s light weight, comfortable, and has less vibration than my ridgid as well.

dust extraction is fantastic and low noise and vibration.
I sand a LOT and thought being covered in dust and having my nose full of dust was just part of the deal with woodworking. Turns out it does not have to be that way. paired with a festal dust extractor you get almost no dust, but even just using it with the attachable bag it is almost no dust, the only down side to that is when you empty it...and if you sand a lot it will need to be emptied a lot so I reccomend this and the extractor or even just find a way to hook up to any shop vac if you dont want to blow so much money on the Festool extractor (it costs too much for sure but Zi dont regret that buy either) I can sand all day with this thing and not end up with a nose full of dust and a shop covered in fine dust, it is the best I have ever had.

You get what you pay for. And I paid a lot for it. And get a lot from it. Great sander!

An amazing upgrade from a Ryobi sander
I'm a starting woodworker and have been using a Ryobi orbital sander for years. I saw a review on this Festool sander from 731Woodworks and wanted to research it. I had a large sanding project where I was restoring an old pine pie cabinet and prepping it for paint. This sander is by far one of the best investments I've ever made in a tool and my very first purchase of Festool of any kind. It's super crazy smooth and powerful. The volume was a lot less than the Ryobi and the biggest thing was that the fatigue from holding it went down to almost nothing. I didn't have to turn it off at any point in the job to take a break so I could feel my hand again from the vibration of the tool. I have a lot of Ryobi hand tools, mostly because I'm a beginner and needed to save money, so staying with them seemed the natural thing to do especially since it was cordless. However, I don't mind the tradeoff of this corded Festool at all now that I've used it. It's got a very long cord and I don't feel I'm getting tangled up in it. I literally through the Ryobi sander I had in the garbage after 1 day of using this. Drop the mic and roll the credits... Boom!

Nice sander
It's a nice sander, very little vibration, but the price point is just a little bit too high for the average joe.

Let me say,. I thought it came with vac…
I’d always wanted this sander because it’s what serious pros use… but when I bought it, I never thought for a minute that it was just the sander, not with a vacuum!250$ + for just a sander! Maybe if it danced on a pole but damn, just a sander? Now I see the vacuum portion I’ll have to sell a lung to buy. Great marketing!
