Zentangle 4 is full of great patterns. A lot of them are challenging and fun. On some pages there are 15 or more tangles to learn. This is a very fun tangle book. Where I thought the third book in the series was lacking a bit, this one makes up for it. It also goes beyond the squares and incorporates the art into scrapbooking and journaling making this book very versatile and unique. Also instead of just sticking to traditional tangles on the squares, it makes great use of shapes and things like owls, birds, leaves, hands, and other shapes to put on a tangle square and many other types of art work. Also used with great examples are stencils and stickers. This book is filled with ideas that will get your imagination working overtime with great ideas. You can use watercolors, gel pens, glitter glue, embossing pens, glimmer mists and more with your zen tangles.I really like this book. I think if you practiced a new tangle a day from it, you'd be working for quite awhile with just this book alone. There are a lot of designs and unique ideas in which to use them. This book also shows techniques with different types of colors to make tangles like you've never made before. This is a very fun book in the series. Suzanne McNeill also works with canvas and greeting cards in this book for great ideas to incorporate into any artwork with lots of different materials. This is a book you'll refer to for a long time in the art of tangling. Five Stars of fun!!

I like all of Suzanne's work. It is always easy to follow and full of inspiration. Zentangle 4 is filled with 40 new tangles and their step outs. The instructions are easy to follow and I am having fun learning one new pattern a day. This book contains tips on shading, using stencils, and color. There are also ideas for scrapbook pages, art journal pages and collage on canvas. A great addition to any tangler's library.

This book is good for all the tanglers that want a little something different but it isn't as great as the other 3 books. It offers many new tangles mostly of nature, but there are some really cool ones. I only gave it 4 stars and not 5 because it goes into a lot of detail for mixed media scrap booking and I'm not into scrapbooking. If you already have the other 3 books, then you need this one to complete your collection. If you don't, I suggest waiting on this one until after you purchase the other ones.

Suzanne McNeill has done it again with this book. I have the first three books and this one is just another layer of new ways to use this addictive art form. I have other Zentangle books by other authors. But I keep coming back to Suzanne's books. Her style is informative and helps the viewer approach this art with complete confidence that you can do it.

Zentangles is addicting. Our household loves art, especially doodles, but Zentangles takes doodling a step higher! It's meditative, calming, relaxing, and most of all FUN. Kids and adults alike love it. We had a Zentangles part and invited 6 adults to try it and they loved it as well. Then a month later, we invited 5 children for a Zentangles party. After giving them a brief overview of the various designs and telling the kids we had one hour to work on it, the kids kept working and didn't want to stop! FUN FUN FUN.Highly recommend Zentangle.

I was a bit disappointed with this book. There isn't as much information as in some of her other books and it strays from zentangles much more into ZIA - zentangle inspired art. It isn't a bad book and if you're collecting Ms. Mc Neill's books then you may want to consider adding this to your collection, as other reviewers have already suggested. In my opinion, however, it isn't an essential book on doing zentangles. My favorite book of hers is Joy of Zentangle: Drawing Your Way to Increased Creativity, Focus, and Well-Being - I refer to is constantly for pattern inspiration. Her Zentangle Basics #3450 is another good book for beginners.All in all, Zentangle 4 is more of an "icing" than a "cake" book, imho. ;-)

I just purchased Zentangle 4 and LOVE IT! I couldn't wait to practice with the new designs and ideas, and then use watercolor pencils and add color to the designs....How cool is that? My daughter tried to borrow my book, but I wouldn't let her, cuz I'd never get it back, she still has my Zentangles 3 book! I love to do this on my lunch hour at work! I am new to Tangling and purchased this book to get the feel and the information about the different kinds of patterns! I definitely got that with this book! By studying the patterns in the book you can actually see how they are done right down to the details. Suzanne McNeill is great with explaining the variations and the combinations of patterns that can be made. This book also encourages you to try making your own zentangles! Definitely a good buy!! Highly recommend!

I am obsessed with Zentangling...this book is a great addition to my collection with lots of designs to try. I know many can be tracked down online but I really like having them in books for quick review and use whenever and wherever I want.
