Works But Better With Modifications
This open type paddle mag holder is VERY secure on one's waist band, which is also it's biggest problem. The paddle protrusions meant to fit under a belt or waist band are SHARP and overly long at nearly 5/16". They DO dig into clothing for hold, but also right through it if left in place long enough. Also a bear to remove even with the usual 'finger wedge' method.I held the paddle away from the main body with a small piece of 1/2" thick wood and used rough sandpaper taped to the front of a smooth 1 1/2" wide piece of thin trim board to sand away those two points down to where the retainer protrusions are a little over 1/8" long now, with no sharp edges. NOW it still retains position on the waist band very well, and does not take an arm wrestling match to remove it, and doesn't poke holes in my jeans, or me.The mag holder itself is adequate for 'routine' activity, but the two 'clips' inside at the bottom do NOT hold the mag as securely as the screw tension adjustable type mag holders do. This is not a problem for anyone who will not be turning flips or anticipates engaging in hand to hand fights, and other than those times it's a nice, secure mag holder that is also quite a bit smaller in size overall than my Blade Tech mag holders or similar designs. The size/bulk difference is why I use the open type polymer/Kydex mag holders versus the fully enclosed soft ones in the first place I'm a civilian and do not need military or operator level security. I'll be buying these in the future, and making the sandpaper mods on them, rather than go back with the other bulkier types.

Holds Firm and Very Versatile
Great mag holster for range work and serious use. I keep one handy with my truck AR so I can add a spare mag to every day attire without needing to don a full battle belt or chest rig. These hold M3 PMAGs snugly but allow you to draw the mag easily. Similar retention and draw resistance to the HSGI Tacos I run on my rigs but in simpler package that allows you to just clip it on your pants.I like that this uses a paddle rather than belt loops because it's fast to don and doff. The one issue with it (the reason I dropped a star) is thankfully easy to resolve. The two spikes that stick in to grab onto your pants/pelt are much sharper than they need to be. This causes snagging, and while you might say "so what, I don't want it to come off," this impedes some mounting options. I like mounting this to my seat-back pocket where I can unclip the whole thing and clip it to my pants. Very hard with the sharp spikes. My solution was a dremel (sand paper would also work). Just round out the spikes and it still holds well without being excessive. I keep a few of these on hand and highly recommend them. They're also cheap enough that you can have spares.

Worth every penny is now my go to for competition
Very easy to use and sturdy. Used it in a carbine competition and I loved it. Magazines fit snug and has a good amount of retention but still easy enough to pull magazines out. Only complaint if you would even call it that is if you hold it upside down and forcefully shake it out the magazine will come out. So as long as you don’t plan on hanging upside down for long periods of time this will work for normal running and gunning and range work

Quality magazine holder for your AR-15 Mags
This is quality magazine holder for AR-15 style mags. I purchased two of these holders after being unsatisfied with a soft molle-attached magazine pouch I purchased at a local gun show for my tactical vest. I am very satisfied with these holders however, and as other reviewers have mentioned Magpul Pmags TWS Magpul MAG210-DKEAR PMAG 30 round AR15/M16 Magazine (no window) Dark Earth fit perfectly in these holders. These hard plastic shell magazine holders are way better in my opinion than the soft magazine pouch I had since there is no need for strap over top of the magazine and the rigid shape allows for consistent insertion and removal of the magazine especially when you are trying to reload fast.I haven't had the chance to test out running around doing dynamic movement drills extensively with these holders, but for normal range activity they work great. I also did a quick experiment to test the retention capabilities of these holders using US GI and Magpul Pmags by hanging upside down on an inversion table for about 5 minutes. The retention was great with both magazines loaded, neither one fell out of the holder while hanging upside down.Long story short, I wouldn't hesitate to purchase these mag holders again, they are rock solid and well worth the money.

Very good mag pouch, get it!
I recently bought two mag pouches. This from Mako and the other one from a well known company costing almost as twice as the Mako. The Mako magazine pouch is in my humble opinión way better. One thing high in my list when looking for gear is simplicity. If a piece of gear is difficult to install, uncomfortable to wear or difficult to remove, I don't get it. Mako mag pouch is extremely easy to install, comfortable to wear all day long and you can remover it in a snap. The most frequent complaint I see about this mag pouch is lack of decent retention. In my opinion, the retention is good or even more than good. I am talking about wearing this mag pouch for tactical applications and tactical training for law enforcement and military. If you are planning to use this for competition, maybe this mag pouch is not the best, but for serious training for law enforcement and/or military this mag pouch meets and exceeds all of the requirements. I recommend this mag pouch 100%.

Not great, but not bad
Overall very good value; it's tough to beat this price. It clips well to a belt, and fits both D&H aluminum and PMAG magazines. It does click positively when fully inserted, but the retention is lacking. If you want something that you can really move with without losing your magazine, you may need to look elsewhere. I may have also just gotten a lemon, but as far as lemons go, it's very functional. I'll certainly be keeping it.
