what is the input voltage of adaptor (110/220 Vac)? Will it work with 220 V ac power source?

This is setup for 120V AC. 240V May work but not with the included power adapter. Unless you have an adapter that changes 240V to 120V w/ neutral, this will not work in 240V countries

Plan A. Look at your Dell users manual and see if the hard drive you have has a connection that looks like one of the connections on this Adapter. Depending on what you are trying to do you may have to take the hard drive out of the laptop to connect to this Adapter. If this does not make sense go to plan B. Plan B. Go to Best Buy or any computer shop and ask them for guidance. If you have data on the hard drive you want to get, you will have to decide how much you want to pay to get it. It should not be too expansive. If you buy this adapter it you will pay $25.

How does this work - can I connect a 2.5 WD internal hard drive - to a mac or PC usb port and use this as an external drive - no enclosure needed?

I connected an older 3.5" WD IDE hard drive to this adapter and the drive worked great as an external drive when I connected it to a USB port on my XP and then to my Win7 . I also connected a SATA 3.5 drive and it worked properly. I do not own any Mac computers so I could not test it with Mac USB ports. Both IDE and SATA raw hard drives (no enclosure necessary) worked good. I don't own any 2.5" drives so I couldn't connect to the adapter to test them. Setting jumper pins to "Master" on IDE hard drive(s) worked for me. Contact me again with any further questions or help. JOHN

The driver will be installed by your pc, try in diferentes computers. Be sure is connected correctly , try conect in different usb port
