I just tried to use mine two weeks ago at an event and it did not work either. I have not had time to check the batteries to see if they were still good. Mine did not do siren so I figured it was the batteries. I have had mine for two years and ir has worked great until now so I am going to give it a pass until I check the batteries.

Q: Will this carry the 16-17000 Hz frequency if I play it from my phone via the sonic app. Looking for an under 40 year old crowd control device?

hi, nooo it would not. its screeches. its not designed for ex: a sound speaker.. we had the same idea for a last minute get together...the 2 types of technology DO NOT jive lol we went to wally world n got a reg music speaker n bluetoothed throught that. hope this helps good luck.

The megaphone does not come with the 12 Volt DC "plug" and/or "cord" the megaphone has the "jack" so one could be used. If you had a 12 Volt DC Plug that plugs into the "cigarette" accessory plug in the vehicle you could use it. However the megaphone does not come with the plug or cord, it only has the capabilities to use one.
