Evans Drum Heads - UV2 Coated Tom Drumhead, 14 Inch

New go to drum heads!! These are the best for rock and metal.. built to last, and they sound great.. recently got my hands on a pearl/mapex/tama Frankenstein kit. lol. Most of the shells are pearl md80- I bought it as a bop kit.. which had a 15 inch kick drum… I upgraded to a Mapex 20" deep kick n added the 15” as my second floor tom. (1 up 2 down)

Bought these Evan’s drum heads to replace the “stock” heads that came with my Pearl Road Show seven piece drum kit. I wanted more durable heads, but more than anything I wanted a deeper, richer, more low bass type sound like you’d hear in a Metallica sound. I was absolutely amazed at the tone difference after installing these Evan’s UV2 coated heads! Did exactly what I wanted and they sound amazing!

INCREDIBLE durability. I mean really, it is insane how durable these heads are. I have been playing these heads for 2 or 3 months now roughly. Look how mint they still look, and I’m not the lightest hitter out there. I had been using Remo for basically my entire drumming life, and I’ll be honest I just got tired of having to always tweak the tuning constantly to keep them dialed in and so I figured I’d give Evans a shot with their level 360 technology. My kit is a Yamaha stage custom 13,16,18, 22x13.5. (I cut the kick down to that size, not factory). While it’s not a high end kit by any means, nobody will ever question the quality of a Yamaha product. So I figured there had to be something better for me than the Remo pinstripes I had been playing. Switched to the Evans UV2 and not only do they stay in tune longer, they are easier to tune for me. Of course every kit is different but this has been my experience with them. And I love how they keep my kit looking great, like I always have a fresh set of heads on. I liked them so much I started dabbling in their different snare heads.

Outstanding sound!

I've used G2 coated heads for Toms and Snares before and I love them - These sound very similar! I have two 12" snares and I've put them through many heads. UV2's always come out on top for both! The coating stops just before the bearing edge, which no other heads I have do. I think this gives you more of the shells tone and sensitivity, while the coating itself is very, VERY durable. It seems like it has 90% of the dampening and 150% of the durability of a G2 - which is a win-win for me! Strongest and longest lasting head I have, and the only one that doesn't kill the TONE! That's why I think it's a fantastic snare head.

Installed on a Supraphonic. A little heavy ( fine with me). With no muffling, it let's a small amount of ring ( character) through. Medium high tension delivers nice definition. Mark's and dirt clean up really nicely.
