Q: Why zre they not paintable

The same reason your socks are not paintable, they are fabric. That having been said, everything is paintable if you have enough paint.

Q: What does the 'high density' equate to in numbers....???...

There’s no numbering system for this product so there’s no way to compare it. I will say I’ve built and also purchased other bass traps and I would say these are a little less than the optimal density by maybe 25%. On the plus side they are convenient. I would Only install these with D pins, The 3M adhesive tabs are worthless and the spray will leave residue on your walls which will be a nightmare when you go to repaint. If you’re looking for state of the art sound deadening this is not it but does cut down on sound reflection.

Q: Can you hear people talking from other room? My apt have very thin wall and hear my neighbor so clear when she talk

I would get a larger sound panel, like ATS, that has more sound insulation inside. Or a sound moving blanket. They will make it more quiet than these. I have these and they do work, but not as well as the two previously mentioned. A hung, old thick queen comforter does wonders too
