Nice finderscope
My finderscope was delivered pretty quickly considering I live overseas. I have a Celestron telescope so mounting the finderscope was easy as it fit on the base of my old one. Aligning was easy, just took a few minutes. The red circle, reticle I’ve learned it is called, can go really bright, excessively bright, but also fades nicely to a manageable brightness. Overall I like it and think it is an improvement over the one I got with my scope.

Pretty good little spotter.
Installed this new spotter on my Celestron Telescope last night. Used for the first time. I had the old version with just the dot laser that covered the star you wanted. I do agree this new version with circle is better for centering what you are wanting to look at. While the size is overkill of the device it self I like this version much better. I had to first use the Moon to get the circle close to an object then moved to Jupiter cause I could use these objects to zero in the new scope. After that was able to move to brighter stars further away to zero in a little better. Pretty easy to use large turn knob to turn device on. Visibility of the object in question is easy to see in the center of the optic. Little expensive for what it seems to be especially over the old version. But since it should last a while I pulled the trigger on it. Adjustments for the zeroing in are easy to use with the larger adjustment screws.

Really accurate and easy to use Finderscope!
I bought this finderscope in conjunction with the Astromania Universal Dovetail Base and the Televue 32mm Plossl Eyepiece for my Celestron Astromaster 114EQ Newtonian Telescope. The Red Dot Finder the telescope came with was terrible, so after I drilled a couple of holes into it and attached the Dovetail Base to it, I was able to attach this Celestron StarPointer Pro to the Dovetail Base. I immediately noticed the difference in ease of use.The StarPointer has a double circle pointer on it and you can calibrate it to match the location your telescope is pointing at! The way the pointer is displayed through the glass looks similar to a HUD display on an aircraft, where you can move you eye position, but the pointer stays put on the location your telescope is pointing. I used this finderscope in conjunction with the 32mm Televue Plossl Eyepiece, and everything I pointed at, I could find in my eyepiece! I can rightfully say that this finderscope is great! The reason I give it 4 stars is due to two reasons. First, since the StarPointer is made by Celestron, just like my telescope, I would expect them to have some kind of base that would match their own products. I had to do a DIY project with a universal Dovetail base to be able to install this Celestron Starpointer to a Celestron Telescope! And Second, even though the finderscope offers a dimming option on it, the dimmest setting is still a little to bright for me. It works great on the bright stars, but when I am trying to point it at dimmer stars, the pointer is too bright and distracting. I found myself turning off the sight and back on to help me center it on some dimmer stars. Other than that, I still think this is a great Finderscope, because it help me find objects in the night sky quick!

Crank the Power/Brightness Knob UP
Nice laser finder scope. When I first got it I thought the battery was dead, but quickly realized you really have to crank the power/brightness knob almost all the way up for the laser to illuminate the glass. Very easy to adjust the concentric rings, and the view is fine when adjusted to your eyes. Comes with four mounts, so one will most likely fit your OTA.

Couldn't be sighted, too low!
AstroMaster 130EQ-MDThis finderscope looked great, and I was really excited about the double open circle... until I tried to sight it in. It was so far below the target that I couldn't max out the 'up/down' alignment and get it above the bottom of the view. I am working with a brand new Astromaster, and admit, I tried this finderscope before I tried sighting the stock finderscope. However, when I gave up and went back to the stock finderscope, I had no problem what-so-ever targeting it.... so I think it's fair to say it wasn't me or the telescope that was the issue. It could just be that I got a defective unit, and I intend to try one more time before I just return it and just use the dot sight the telescope came with.

great addition to our telescope
Here's a review for the Celestron Star Pointer:The Celestron Star Pointer is an essential tool for stargazing enthusiasts! This finderscope makes aligning my telescope with celestial objects incredibly easy. The red dot is crisp and adjustable, allowing for precise alignment even in low light conditions. I love how lightweight and easy it is to mount and calibrate on my telescope. The build quality feels reliable, and it holds its settings well, even after transporting my telescope. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned stargazer, this star pointer is a must-have for seamless night sky navigation. It’s a small addition that makes a big difference in the stargazing experience!

Makes star location much easier
For an amateur stargazer, this finder scope is essential. The 8x scope that came with my Dobsonian telescope is nice, but what I see with my naked eye is considerably different than what I see through the 8x magnification. This simple 1x finder scope makes it much easier. What I see through the finder matches what I see with my naked eye. There is no magnification, light amplification, or inversion to deal with. Simply point the crosshair at the star you want to begin with and it is centered in your eyepiece. This sight has adjustable brightness with more range in the dim (dim is essential for night-time viewing). You must adjust the crosshair to align with the center of your eyepiece, but this is easy to do with the adjustment screws. Once you set it, you will not need to adjust it again unless you bump it out of adjustment.
