Klein Tools 11047 Wire Stripper / Cutter, Made in USA, Compact, Lightweight, ...

If I were to give it a rating, I’d say 4.5 out of 5 stars for what it is: a high-quality, precision stripper/cutter for smaller solid wires. Best for you if you: 1. Work frequently with 22-30 AWG solid wire (such as wiring in controls, electronics, communications, etc). 2. Value build quality, precision, and a trusted brand (Klein). 3. Need a compact tool that can reach into tighter areas. Less ideal if you: 1. Frequently strip/cut larger wires (say 10-18 AWG or stranded) — you’ll want a tool with broader range. 2. Do heavy duty, high volume wire stripping where greater comfort/ergonomics matter more. 3. Need a multi-function tool (crimping, larger gauge etc) rather than a dedicated small gauge stripper. For low voltage work these are perfect, color coded yellow for easy identification, for the price you cant beat the quality. Also, these say these are for solid wire but you can strip stranded as well.

These have worked perfectly for stripping very small gauge wire. It has done a very accurate job of stripping the casing without also cutting off the wire strands of stranded wire. The wire stripper is also sized right to fit into your hand compared to multi-gauge strippers that are heavy and longer and makes it easy to do the cuts. Be careful when you order, there are different gauge range strippers on the same page, make sure to select the correct range of wire gauge you need. They seem to be extremely well made and would recommend them over single wire strippers, bulky multi-use strippers, and definitely better than the adjustable s.

Tested the 11047 on 26 gauge wire-wrap wire. Worked perfectly. Previously, I had bought a cheaper stripper and that just shredded the insulation. I returned it and got the 11047. Stick with Klein.

I need this for stripping very small wires for a load cell. It works as it should and seems well made and robust.

Excellent these are perfect for building RCA cables. The crimp on the end is a match for the RCA cable clamp. The tool is very nice and quite ergonomic. The cutter is very sharp and tight cutting cleanly through all the strands. Overall, this tool is absolutely perfect for the fine wires inside RCA cable.

You will always find a pair of these as well as Klein’s flush cutters (Klein Tools D275-5 Lightweight Flush Cutter, Up to 16 AWG, Grips Designed for Tool Control and Heat Treated For Durability https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B000GTMZHG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_RFzeFbTXRJD6J) in my small tool pouch. These are sharp, precise and make stripping very easy. The handles want to be open so when you are done the reset in your hand and you can move quickly to the next wire. A true one handed operation that requires no extra dexterity or movement. Despite being so small the over molded handles are comfortable in the hand and do not cause fatigue after long periods of use. The wire gages are easily seen on the stripping head and don’t require any genuflecting or search for light in order to see them. Other products i have, i sometimes feel like they should just put the numbers in Braille as might feel them easier than trying to see them. These have also lasted a long time and i like Klein’s color coding of the handles. You know what you are grabbing without much of a glance.

These wire strippers do a perfect job removing sheathing without damaging the internal conductor. They are 100% worth their price tag. No gimmicky additional features, just a nice soft spring in the handle. Worth mentioning: They do NOT lock in their closed position like some others do. Be careful how you store them as they are quite sharp.
