Q: are these coarse, extra coarse or medium grinding pads please?

these are pads ment to strip paint and coating off concrete, wood and metal they do a very good job at that better then any outher disk , they don't have a grit number on them on concrete they left a smooth surface as well as metal

Q: how about using this for Brass? Will it scratch?

this is a aggressive disk I've used it on coated concrete it striped the coating off and polished the concrete smooth, it worked great on that ,also used on steel it did still that but also brighten it but did leave scratches, I belive it would leave scratches on the brass, but never used it on brass

Q: Will this fit any sander that uses this size hook and loop disc?

these are not made for hook and loop . Fits a 4 1/2" grinder with the appropriate adapter
