Detachable Mounting bracket is spot-on perfect for my purposes in attaching this D-block firmly to ...
Purchased to fabricate a distribution manifold for my Pond's Aeration System. Pleasantly surprised at the noticeable heft, and build quality of this part. Threading on mine is deep, clean, and tight across all 6 ports. So don't worry too much about having to chase them yourself to make your gear seat and work properly. Detachable Mounting bracket is spot-on perfect for my purposes in attaching this D-block firmly to the compressor cabinet. As a carpenter, I'm sure this would also work like a champ rigged to a rolling hot dog or any high volume compressor onsite for the crew. The front facing 1\4" outlet ports are spaced more than enough so you could run 4 beefy quick-connect couplers in line with ease and without frustration. Also love having the two side ports to use as the inlet, and the other for a teed-up PRV and Gauge setup in my application. There is no back-port, which I've always found to just be a PITA which ultimately gets a plug anyway, so that's another plus for me personally. Would a 3\8" inlet port have been nice to add a bit more air volume? Sure, but since most "portable" compressor equipment outlets are 1\4"NPT these days anyway, that's a moot point and not worth disparaging the product over. That being said, I wouldn't use this to distribute air in a automotive shop or industrial application that requires constant air volume over 5cfm across multiple tools simultaneously because again its a 1/4" setup and isn't designed for that action. However, if you need something that can handle a bunch of nailers, or a few air-lines for a pond aeration system, this thing is a winner in my book and is built like a tank. It wouldn't be a review if I didn't mention a negative, so I suppose that having a second mounting point for the back-plate so it cant move at all, would be an improvement, but that's just straight nit-picking.

Serves a great purpose
Used for air ride distribution off air tank to supply 4 valves. Makes everything seem neat and compact instead of a mess of coupling and various adapters. Makes things much simpler. Nice product and no problems whatsoever with threading as it's standard NPT

Well machined, compact, and just what I needed.
Unlike some of the other experiences detailed in these reviews, the manifold I received was within advertised specifications. It was well packaged and all Allen screws, washers and nuts were in a separate, sealed bag. The coating is uniform and covered the entire manifold.1/4 NPT fittings threaded in smoothly and to the appropriate depth, with 2 wraps of teflon sealing tape around the threads. For those who will use this as an OBA (On Board Air) manifold and to house ARB locker solenoids. The manifold is compact and the holes are too close together to install ARB solenoids side-by-side; they must be separated by at least one hole. I set mine up like so (from left to right, looking at the manifold): side hole closed with 1/4" NPT hex plug | ARB solenoid #1 | in-cab pressure gauge hose fitting | ARB solenoid #2 | air pressure regulator | side hole fitted with 90* fitting for air supply. In summary, this is a solid product that will serve my purpose 100%.

Bad threads
Great design, poor execution.I've had to resort to obscene amounts of teflon tape to get 3 of the holes to seal (one still seeps a bit). Tried replacing fitting, pipe dope, etc. The rest of the holes are fine. I've done alot of plumbing with these type of fittings for gas, air & water, so it's not like I don't know what I'm doing - there's something not right with the threads.I have a problem with the VIAIR check valve also - thought these guys were the best and that's why they could charge so much. Turns out everyone thinks they're the best because they charge so much.

Five stars for quality and being a unique product, with one substantial issue with the threads ...
This manifold is super well made, and it's unique -- it comes with a bracket, and cross-drilled holes that allow you to mount it almost any way you want. In my opinion, it's also a vital component to anyone doing a permanent air compressor installation in their vehicle. My use for this Viair manifold is in my 2009 Toyota Tacoma 4x4 to handle my custom tire inflation system. The whole unit is both necessary and excellent for my needs, but with one major caveat ...The substantial issue I noted in the headline is that the NPT threads are far too tight and the hole begins to taper far too early in the threads. I'm using brass NPT fittings, and they only get a few threads in before tightening up to the point they can't be tightened any more (at torque limit). Not an issue if only a few threads in feels right to you, but I would much rather get the fittings further in before they tighten up.All of that said, the bracket included is worth its weight in gold, and the fact that the manifold can be rotated on that bracket and mounted multiple ways is awesome. To anyone doing a Viair compressor installation, unless you're just doing one connection point off the leader hose, this manifold is vital to any more detailed installation. All common 1/4" NPT fittings will mount to this, so you can get the rest from any hardware source.

Good quality
Mounting bracket and universal orientation comes in handy

Works well!
The taps on my was good. Was able to fit 4 ball valves on them but had to disassemble 2 of the 4 ball valves and remove the stem so the valve body will clear each other when screwing in. Also had to mount the valves in an angle so the lever will clear each other and had to grind down the bottom of the lever at an angle as well. Overall, very happy with it. Very compact. Using it as a vacuum manifold to distribute vacuum on my vacuum table.

Looks good made incorrectly
Like other complaints this part was not threaded correctly. Could barely start a 1/4 npt fitting even after chasing and bottoming out a tap in it. Cut off the end of the tap to try and fix it then couldn't rethread any other hole. Wasted my money on this product and a tap to try and fix it. Looks good quality other than incorrectly threaded holes.Edit/update: i did eventually find a better tap that let me properly tap the threads out to be able to use it. Still wish it was made correctly out of the box.
