Pro Lens Mount Adapter - Compatible with Leica M Lens to Sony Alpha E-Mount Mirrorless Cameras

I'm using this to mount a Leica 40mm f/2 Summicron-C to an NEX 7. It fits nice and tight, with no play at all. Leica lenses are known for being ridiculously well-engineered, and there's actually more play between the lens and the adapter than there is between the adapter and the camera body. Even pulling on it, the adapter fits the body so well that you'd swear it was actually part of the camera. The lens focuses correctly all the way out to infinity.I have not used the more expensive Novoflex adapters, but I honestly don't see how they could be any better than this product. From now on, all my NEX adapters will be Fotodiox Pros.The only complaint I have about this is that the lens release is a little bulky, and I have big hands, so sometimes I scrape my fingers on it. But I can't wholly blame Fotodiox for that, because the actual Leica lens release is in the same position, so I suspect that they had no choice but to put the release where they did.

Fit on the NEX 6 was excellent and the fit of my two Leica lenses was OK too but rather on the tight side. But, the locking pin protruded very little and it was easily possible to turn the lens too far; one had to look carefully when the pin found the matching cut-out in the lens bayonet as there was no audible feedback. In, addition, the rather(and unnecessarily) large release button gets in the way of holding the camera and scratches the backside of your ring finger. I ended up purchasing the much more expensive Voigtlander adapter; mounting a lens on it is like mounting it onto a Leica body - none of that "tight" fit that I experienced with the Fotodiox (and one other adapter).

I have to admit, this product works and the quality is nice! The reason for lowering to the 4 star from the 5 is that I bought another adaptor for a 1/6 of the price and it's just as effective/tight/compact. The main difference (where my $$$ went) was the button release, it's in the same place, but releases easier then the cheaper adaptor which is a little tougher to release. You photogheads can decide if that's a good thing or a bad thing. I lowered one star because I felt a little ripped off.

The first one I bought had really bad "wiggle" so I returned it and the replacement was worse! I know it was the adaptor as it was the same with two different Leica lenses. Rather than return it altogether, as I do rather like the look and build of it, I added four little pieces of duct tape to the adapter (see pic). This little modification works very well and the adaptor is very ridged with no wiggle at all. Is there anything duct tape won't fix?

It's a really nice piece of equipment. The only flaw for me is that with some lenses, the fit is extremely tight. There are a couple I won't use on it because of that; on the flip-side, there are a couple that I only use with this adapter for the same reason (they are too loose on my other M-Nex adapter, the Metabones).

Voigtlander VM adapter II is better in every way. It fits my lens better, build quality, adapter ring, lens lock and release knob are all better. It also looks more professional but depend on you taste.Buy a Voigtlander adapter if you have more money to spend and you should. This still a good cheaper alternative though.

Unfortunately I did not have the good luck CH apparently enjoyed with his Fiodiox Pro Adapter. Fit to the camera seemed fine but when I mounted my otherwise tight Leica Summicron to the NEX 5N there was movement relative to the camera body (wobble) that, while not great, leads me to look to a different manufacturer for this part. I cannot advise you as to whether the problem is in the design itself or the result of unflattering tolerances in the adapter I received. Sorry.

I have been using this adapter on my Sony NEX-7 about two months now. It is very well engineered and constructed. When I was looking for an adapter for my Canon FD cameras, I chose Fotodiox because THIS adapter was so well made that I had a high degree of confidence that their Canon FD product would be equally as satisfying (it is).I'm so pleased with the two Fotodiox adapters and with the Sony NEX-7's support of non-OEM lenses that I don't own any Sony E-mount lenses. All my lenses are "adapted".

Very high build quality. All metal construction adds some weight to the camera, but that's okay. The actual fit is good but not as good as my £8 unbranded Minolta adapter. My advice would be to try a very cheap alternative first and then move to this if not satisfied.

Having this adapter, it allows me to use the voigtlander manual lenses to the Sony A7, and it does it very correctly. Sits tightly tothe camera, the lens sits tight to the adapter with a knob to release it smoothly. Good price, good quality.

Great product. All my leica m lenses (4) fit nice and snug and the same goes for the camera connection. I live in Ontario, Canada and I received my order in four days (including a weekend). No duties or brokerage fees were paid except for the hst at time of ordering. I cannot compare to the metabones or novoflex but cannot fathom their being worth the extra money. This is the adapter to buy to use m lenses on a sony e-mount camera.

Thought about getting the metabones adapter, but couldn't find at a price I was willing to pay. While still a bit expensive, it works very well and found no play in the lens at all.
