Q: will this work and 04 Acura tl w/navigation without loosing any controll and can i play my music using bluetooth and diplaying on the Navi screen?

This unit will work for your 2004 TL. I have an 05 TL with nav. The music will display on the audio screen of the nav as well as the the climate control/ clock display. It will replace one XM channel. You will not lose any controls and steering wheel controls are maintained.

Q: What if I only want to stream audio. Can the hands-free phone capability be disabled?

I just put this in my 2006 Acura tl and you CAN use for audio only. I turned the phone call option off in the settings and my phone calls cone through the original hands free link that came with the car. This was a perfect answer to keeping what I already had in my car and adding the Bluetooth audio option. Love it!

Q: Does the usb have power when the car is turned off? would be nice to charge a phone while the car is off.

No. The entire unit is powered through radio harness... prevents killing car battery by accident

Q: When not on the aux mode playing music through the phone are you be able to use the bluetooth for phone calls if you were listening to the radio?

On most cars it will automatically switch to BT mode when a call comes in or is placed, no matter what mode it was in before. Even if the stereo is off, it will turn on. But it won't go back automatically, you'll have to manually return to the radio or aux or off or whatever when you finish the call.
