Wonderful book - water confidence and swimming
My son is very hesitant in group lessons, and we’ve been considering trying to teach him to swim ourselves. This book has wonderful, step-by-step instructions, that begin with teaching water confidence. Very pleased with this book, great guide on teaching your child

BUY THIS BOOK, SKIP THE OTHERS!!!
This book is AMAZING!I followed most of it, including reserving a room at a hotel with the type of pool suggested in Benjamin Roberts's book. I was able to teach my fearful kid using this method alongside EFT Tapping. So, the right pool, right mind-body support, and this book enabled my kid to go from not wanting to put his face in the water to swimming a round-trip lap in a lengthy pool.I bought most of the kid-swim books on Amazon looking for a way to get my kid to swim, and they're all crap compared to this one. As a teacher, I can say that wholeheartedly.I don't know the author, I have no stake in whether he sells more. I just wanted to support his good work.

Wish I’d Bought It Earlier
Really useful ideas. My husband and I have been relying on the local YMCA and the instructors are great but our 4yo is not progressing very quickly and is far from watersafe. I wish I’d read the suggestions regarding the goggles sooner and how to teach the taking of the big breath. Yes, there are methods for teaching that. So far the book has been well worth the money.

I found the tips in this book very helpful. My grandson was afraid to go in the pool. After following some of the suggestions in this book, he now loves the water and is progressing in his swimming skills.

One BIG problem…
The author bases all his lessons on you having a shallow pool, only a little above the knees of the swimmer, preferably with Roman style steps leading into it. If you don’t have such a pool or access to one, you can’t do any of the lessons! They are not designed for the average public pool or lap pool that you would see at a YMCA. Other than that, the book seems solidly written, despite the fact that it looks like a self- published that someone made on their home computer and a little short!

Good information
Good information. Easy to understand. Teaches basic swimming skills by using one, main stroke: freestyle/front crawl. Teaches proper technique in a kid-friendly format.

Confidence building approach to teaching swimming
I really like this guide to teaching your child to swim. The author has broken the skill of swimming down into concrete elements, the emphasis is on building a strong foundation and moving at a confidence building pace. I haven't started the lessons yet but I feel inspired and way better equipped to set my son up for success.
