The VERY best deer deterrent around
We have a very healthy deer population in my neighborhood. So much so, that I’d given up trying to grow anything that bloomed. I’ve lost hostas, blooming annuals and perennials, and my day lilies haven’t bloomed in more than 8 years. Oh, they form buds, but the deer always eat the buds before the day lilies bloom. The final straw was when the deer started munching on some of my young hydrangeas in the backyard. Just by accident, I stumbled across a blog about Bobbex. I was so impressed with the reviews and the high rate of effectiveness that I decided to give it a shot. I also liked the fact that it was an all-natural repellent. Let me first say that this stuff STINKS to high heaven. I could even smell it thru all the packaging when it first arrived. I bought the concentrate, so that may have had something to do with the strong scent. But for me, I didn’t care how bad it smelled, if it worked. And boy oh boy, does this stuff work! Just follow the directions. Shake up the concentrate really well before making the mix. I put it in my Dewalt sprayer and make up a gallon for each application. Make sure you shake up the container or sprayer before each application, then spray everything and anything you want to protect. Make sure your vegetation is dry before spraying and don’t spray if rain is called for within about 6 hours of an application. For me, I don’t use up the whole gallon of spray the first time, so I usually respray about 5 days later. Bobbex tells you to use up any mixed spray within 5 days, so I just follow their directions. Recently, we’ve had a lot of rain, so I haven’t sprayed as much, and my day lilies have been “harvested” by browsing deer, but I’m getting back on schedule. All I can say is that Bobbex is a permanent additional to my gardening supplies from here forward!

Works on Deer, does not work on Voles
I wish I had started using this on my young trees years ago!I planted serviceberry trees this year, and the deer immediately defoliated them.Spraying This Deer Repellent on the remaining twigs and branches did indeed curb the deer.I have Linden Trees that lost all of their new growth on lower branches every single spring!I sprayed this mix onto their spring leaves annnd no more deer visits at all!I also have holly bushes that are making a comeback!I spray at one week intervals during spring. I haven't had it through the year yet, but wanted to stop in and give my FIVE STAR rating.VOLES - Voles are eating my seedlings, and starts from hyssop and other perennials. We had a mild winter, so voles are everywhere. I sprayed tiny started plants with this mix, and the voles took them ALL just as if I'd done nothing. So, works on deer, not on voles. Lesson learned.

Peppermint where? 🤣
So, i usually use “Deer Out” and it smells like skunk so i thought id try this one, bcz everyone said it smelled like peppermint! I don’t know who put a spell on them but smells exactly like Deer Out, 🦨!!! The box, with the bottle in a ziplock bag was in my foyer and i could smell skunk! I’m sure it will work the same and it was less expensive but i still gave it 4 stars for the claim peppermint was the main scent. Just know, it stinks just like the rest 🤷‍♀️

Does the job!
This stuff works to repel deer. As long as I remember to spray it on my plants about every 1-2 weeks, the deer stay away. If I forget and go longer than that, they return and nibble. So I know it works...just requires diligence on my part.It smells AWFUL when you first spray it, but odor dissipates pretty quickly. Don't spray it right before you have company! LOL

Might work
This might work...not sure. I bought to keep deer from eating my veggies only to find you shouldn't spray it on your food. So I sprayed around the containers that I was growing my veggies in, so it didn't work. Also didn't seem to have any effect at protecting my day lilies.Honestly, the smell was too horrific for me to continue to use. It made my entire yard smell like we had a sewer problem. In fact, my husband didn't know I had just walked by him with the solution and he came and asked if I smelled something because he thought our sewer had backed up and was worried. It's not worth it to me. So I started planting flowers that deer don't like and so far. That's been the best solution.

Bobbex is a natural deer deterrent proven to work!
I am now a fan of the Bobbex Deer Repellent (smells like garlic) compared to other products I bought on amazon.PlantSkydd (dried cow and pig blood powder) was effective, however much more involved to mix. You needed HOT water, stir stick, and wait for bubbles to subside before shaking up in the 1-gal sprayer. In comparison, the Bobbex concentrate can be added right to the 1-gal sprayer as is with any water temperature, and no need to use the stir stick method as you can simply shake the closed pump sprayer. Both state that you should use the product within 5-7 days, as it apparently gets less effective if you apply it when it isn't as fresh. I find myself doing an application, another in 7 days, then a final in 2 weeks, all from the same 1-gal sprayer.Where I live in Buffalo, NY we have the benefit of seeing deer tracks in the snow, so we know the "path" the deer are taking. It's really awesome to see the "after" results as I see their path veers away from the bushes I've treated with Bobbex! Our doorbell cam alerts me every morning whenever animals are seen as well, helping us to confirm our theory that Bobbex actually works.Just keep in mind that snow/rain will wash away the product quicker, so I tend to watch for sunny days to do the application spraying. In conclusion, I'd recommend Bobbex in a 1-gal pump sprayer combo to anyone else dealing with deer eating your landscaping. Thankfully it is quite affordable as compared to buying and replanting bushes and landscaping.
