Got bamboo board today. For future co. packing tips...Don't put your "sticky" label right on the bamboo board itself! That gooey stuff made a small stain on the board. No biggie, but future advise it can go on outside of plastic wrap around board. So over and above that MINOR thing.....LOVE the board. I shouldn't dull my new top of the line knives now. Got new knives set for Christmas & I needed a nice bamboo cutting board for their use. The size is ok for small everyday slicing. I do need to also get a larger one with groove around it for slicing up watermelon & larger roast to capture the juice too.

Today (11/2/16) I rcvd this product and was excited to use a new bamboo cutting board. As the instruction says, I washed it with warm water and mild detergent. After rinsing it, I noticed so many little splinters all over the board and I tried to get rid of them but it did not work. I am afraid to use this board because the bamboo splinters will all over the food. I am wondering whether I can return this item to Amazon since it's washed one time ( I believe this is a defective product) - bad quality! I usually checked the reviews by the verified purchasers; really wondering how this product can get five or four stars Umm....

The Kitchen Active Premium Bamboo Cutting Board arrived in a medium Amazon shipping box. The product was cushioned with air pillows and plastic wrapped. On the front of the board is a descriptive label covering the care of the cutting board and explaining the benefits of using bamboo. It's much easier on your knives and won't dull them as fast as ordinary cutting boards. It's also less porous which means there are fewer places for bacteria to get trapped. It's very easy to clean! Simply wash with warm water and mild soap and let air dry. The cutting board is surprisingly sturdy and is a nice thickness yet still remarkably light. It's also beautiful! It would like right at home in any kitchen.

I received another email that said I could use different oils than on the page inside the package, which states to use mineral oil. I chose coconut oil and rubbed it down for the first time. So, I will say the instructions in the emails and in the package differ quite a bit. I'm going to use the email instructions since they cover care of the board more thourly. And also after only rubbing the board down with the oil one did not seem to make a difference in the texture. I was still rough after it had time to absorb thourly. At this point I am still seasoning my board and if things go well I will follow the recommendation of getting a separate board only for use when cutting meat. Thank you for the great suggestion.

This cutting board is the perfect size for larger jobs such as pineapples and watermelon. It even has enough space for me to cut up all my soup and gumbo veggies at once. I am happy with the quality of this cutting board and that it is a sustainable product. I also don't worry about so much about germs with bamboo's natural germ resistance. It is also better for my knives, since it will not cause them to dull as quickly as the hard plastic boards do.

It's a basic board. It is not lovely like the ones you see at more fancy stores. It is not as high quality as the photo shows. Lightweight, thin, small. Not as good as the one I had before. If I had known, I would have spent more money on a better quality board. You get what you pay for.

I am extremely disappointed in this product. The first time I opened it and washed it the wood lifted giving me splinters and bits of wood breaking off. Because of these issues I cant put food on it (wood would get in the food) so I had to throw it off.

A great affordable product, but the real reason for the five-star review is the terrific communication by the seller. After I received my product, Kitchen Active, LLC took the time to send me a usage and care email that gave great tips on how best to use my cutting board and how to maintain it.
