TORCHSTAR 5CCT 3 Inch Recessed Light

I purchased these for my 1st floor remodel. I went with a minimalist design look, clean lines. I didn't want the lights to over power the room and wanted them to really look as though you cant even notice them. These did the job! very seamless look throughout my first floor, kitchen, family room and sitting room. Almost 3 years later and I'm repurchasing them for my basement remodel.

Overall I'm Very pleased with these lights. The hole template is a metric size. You can use a 3" inch hole saw, but a 2-7/8" gives a tighter fit. First time I connected them to my Lutron dimmer, the lights just went to Maximum, and I assumed they were not compatible with Lutron dimmers. However, by swapping the positions of the live wires, from top to bottom & vice versa, the dimmer worked.

I like these easy-to-install, cost-effective, and attractive lights so much that I ordered a second set. I installed them inside kitchen cabinets with glass doors. They highlight the contents of the cabinets.

Two of the six lights have failed so far in the first 30 days. They start a strobing effect.

Very bright. I usually calculate about 1.5W/sq-ft but these are way to bright for that equation. I would think you could go 1W/sq-ft, or 40sq-ft per fixture with these units. I'm using the $22 Lutron LED special purpose dimmer recommended by the manufacturer and they will not turn on with that special dimmer on it's lowest setting. There is a lag when turning them on at any level, like two seconds when on a very dim setting to just noticeable at the brightest. Still I love the ease of installation and the clean simple look.

Received exactly what we were looking for. Exceptionally thin, easy to install and cheaper than other home improvement stores. All around great purchase

We ordered 2700K, a nice warm white. The lights are beautiful and we are very happy with them.
