Excellent lesson
I loved this story. It is a great story adults and children as it helps to see that we should know the whole of a thing or people before we make assumptions.

A Tale for all Times!
Seems like the appropriate book to ponder during our politically divided times. Age wise, I’d say it is good for 7 years through adult.

Used in a TFL context
This was a good, clear telling of this tale. Though use in a TFL context in an indigenous village required some modification, the illustrations supported the tale very well. A great story for acting out --there are some wonderful neuro-sensory activities online for building context.

Empathy Lesson
This classic parable can lead to interesting discussions about empathy and perspective for students of all ages. Blind or myopic, we all can struggle with accepting different perspectives; often times we cling to our version rejecting all others. I use this (along with other children's picture books - Zoom! by Banyai) to challenge college-bound high school students with the open ended question, "So What?"

Great story!
I gave this book as a gift because it was a favorite of my grandchildren. The book was in good condition and it came earlier than scheduled.

Nice simple re-telling of a classic tale
I first heard this story from a book by Lillian Quigley. That book is long out of print, and is hard to find at a reasonable price. I settled for this easy reader version for my granddaughters. It's well done, and will be a fun story for them.

Great book for teaching observations and inferences.
This is a great story about blind men who want to know what an elephant is. I use it to teach my science students about observations and inferences, as well as point of view and prior knowledge. It is a great discussion starter.
