I like it
I like it. I always look for mascara in the thinnest tube with the skinniest brush--and finally someone has made one deliberately. If you have naturally long, thick, dark lashes you could probably use shoe polish on a toothbrush and look great, but for those of us with pale, fine lashes, you have to get in there and coat each lash as far down to the base as you can get. If you use a mascara that plumps and fattens, etc, etc., well, you get tons of blobby black stuff and you look like Tammy Faye Baker. Use the wrong eyelash-extending mascara and you end up with shedding black threads under your eyes. This mascara "primer" is good because it:*Gets to the base of each lash*Gets to the tiny lashes in the corner of your eye*Gets to the finer, shorter lashes under the eye*Does a much better job of separating lashes, or rather, not clumping them togetherTo get an eyeliner effect you have to carefully touch the end of the brush down to the skin along the lash line. I add to this by dotting in between each lash with a very fine liner pen.It works perfectly fine as a daily mascara, though not as dark. Altogether, it produces a very natural, almost unmade-up look. For night, I'd add another coat of a darker mascara, plus a 2-step lash extender like Vixen 30 Fiber Lashes. But this little Tightline mascara is a whole new tool in my eyelash cosmetics box.8.22.17 UpdateHaving just put on eye makeup and finishing my mascara, as always, with this skinny little mascara, I thought, "I really like this. I should go update my review."It's exactly a year to the day since I wrote this review and it's still going strong, not dried up at all. It's become the finishing step in my mascara and makes the difference between pale lashes at the lash baseline and eye corners and having completely dark lashes everywhere.

(Almost) magic for sparse lashes and older eyes
Most mascara looks fake and clumpy on me these days. It’s hard to find makeup that will enhance my hooded eyes and sparse lashes without overdoing it, transferring or melting. Added to which I hate the feel and weight of gunky eyes now. But this mascara is seriously different. It makes the most of every tiny lash but looks nearly natural, not clownish. Undoubtedly it’s the tiny wand that does it.I’m not very skilled, so creating a tightlined effect is still hit or miss. I dot a pencil between my lashes for that (a makeup artist suggested MAC in Teddy as a good alternative to black for mature eyes). Also, the mascara does flake by the end of the day, which is disappointing. Maybe I’ll try the brush with another mascara, as someone suggested. But for my tired old lashes this stuff is nearly magic, flaws and all.

Does decent job with "tightline effect". Read review for honest pros, cons, & suggestion
This mascara does a pretty easy and decent job of providing a "tightline" effect. I've tried the NYX Cosmetics The Skinny Mascara, which is the more affordable option for tightline mascara at $7.70, but I definately thing IT's version is superior. The NYX Cosmetics version is drier and after a week of using it, I felt like I used most of the product up (for mascara, a week's worth is barely anything).Pros:- Goes on smoothly- Transfers mascara onto the lid line for the tight line effect, giving your lashes a darker look as more mascara is deposited at the base of the lash (due to the super skinny brush) and depositing color on the water line of the lid, fills in the gaps between lashes with black color making the lashes appear blacker at the base.Cons:- A little pricey for what you get, but I do think it will last about a month, maybe 2, so not terribly overpriced.- Tight line effect only - not really a true all over mascara: I still need to use regular mascara on top because the wand is so skinny and small it doesn't hold enough mascara to transfer to all your lashes. BUT I will say, I purchased it with the intent of still using my regular mascara for thickness and length and using this for the tight line effect only.- Will not make your lashes thicker or longer looking in any way, BUT I don't think that's the real intent of this product...made for tight line effect.Suggestions:- Use a lash primer 1st, then use this mascara at the base of your lashes only for the tight line effect. There isn't enough on the wand to really be effective as a traditional mascara. Next use your regular mascara as usual on top. It gives your eyes a subtly lined look without eyeliner or with liner, just makes the base of the lashes darker and bolder.- If you're not sure about the price point, try the NYX The Skinny mascara first for $7.70 to see if a tight line mascara is your thing or not.- Keep your wand and tube after it's all gone and use the skinny wand that comes with either brand (IT or NYX), dip it in your regular mascara and it will give you the exact same tight line effect. The wand is really the "magic ingredient" in my opinion, not the mascara. Store the skinny wand in it's original tube just to keep it from drying out and getting dirty. You can clean the brush and tube periodically to prevent bacteria over time.

Tight line is a fine line
Really like this as a base coast, it gets right up on the lash line and meets the eye liner so there are no gaps. Enhances the lower lashes.

Best ever!
Best mascara wand ever! How did I not know about this, goes on easily and doesn't smear or go under your eyes with wear. The primer helps it to go on smooth & quickly. Very natural looking, not cakey or clumpy.

Practice makes perfect
So overall it's ok... does it stamp your eyeliner. Hmm maybe with more practice, which was the main reason I bought it. The brush is fabulous. It's so tiny and fine all the lashes. Love that. Not a huge fan of the mascara itself. Doesn't make my lashes look fuller and it's a little clumpy. It does make them look incredibly long. Thinking of dipping that wand into my fav mascara.
