Dell 10.8-Inch Tablet Folio Case for Venue 11 Pro -7130 (HXDYX)

This case was lightweight, durable, with good design and easy to use. Unfortunately the tablet was not as durable and reliable, and the case outlasted the tablet easily.

I purchased this folio case after slaving for several hours looking for a suitable case for my Dell Venue 11 Pro 7130. Although listed as designated for the 7139 model of the tablet, the Dell website specifies that is compatible with the 7130 model.Pros- The case, while being a perfect fit for the tablet is also quite sturdy and tough. It looks and feels like it can protect the tablet from a fairly hard hit as well as the rigors of daily use- It feels smooth on the palm but provides enough grip to prevent it from sliding out of your hands- Unlike several options listed on Amazon this case gives access to all the ports provided your tablet is a 7130/7139 model- The case provides two angles at which to prop up the tablet. Satisfactory.Cons- It adds a bit more weight to the already fairly heavy tablet.- Although I knew this beforehand, the screen cover part of the case does not have a magnetic mechanism or elastic band to hold it in place. It also doesn't do very well to protect the screen of the deviceOverall, I was satisfied with the quality of this product but the delivery was prompt and precise

The hard cover fits nicely on my dell venue 7130. This is the only case I could find for 7130. There are lot of cases for 5130 (atom processor ones) but since 7130 uses i3/i5 processors and those processor needs a fan, the other covers were covering the ventilation opening. In this one you have to take the case of to access micro sd slot but dell's design on accessing microsd card is not easy either. The case is two piece. One piece covers the back of the tablet. The other piece attaches to tablet through the two holes at the bottom of the tablet for placing on the dock and magnets. And it covers the screen. This part can also be folded to make the tablet stand up. It stays firmly. Either pieces can be used independent from each other. The holder for stylus is on the top, not on the side as most of the 5130 cases, but it does not bother me.

NOTE: All the photos I uploaded, show the cover as I modified it. This tablet cover was designed for the Dell Venue 11 Pro 7139. I purchased it to use on a Dell Venue 11 Pro 7140 because I couldn't find a cover for that model. I saw a review for the Dell model GKPY4 cover, on another website, which claimed that it would also work for the model 7140. After examining some pictures of this cover, I could see that the side cutouts were different than my tablet. I felt, however, that I could make additional cutouts or enlarge the existing cutouts as needed for my tablet. Fortunately, both tablet models have the same overall dimensions, so my tablet fits snugly in the case. I used a coping saw, with a very fine toothed blade, a couple of small files, and a piece of 220 grit sandpaper to modify the cutouts. I think it turned out pretty good. If the top portion of the cover is supposed to lock magnetically, when it is closed, it won't, with this model tablet, but that's OK. I knew there may be some compromises. The top cover easily and securely plugs into the bottom cover with 2 magnetic tabs. The reason that there are two pieces to this cover is so the tablet can mate with a keyboard, or a docking stand, but since I don't use my tablet with either one of those, I would have preferred that the cover be in one piece. Overall, I'm happy with this cover, and the price was very reasonable.

The hard shell for the back is nice to have but the front which also doubles as a stand is useless as #1 the tablet is to heavy so it often collapses under the weight and #2 there's no strap or anything to keep the front cover on when the tablet is not in use or you are carrying it, etc.
