I have been wanting to make my own krauts and fermented foods but didn’t know how. This makes it so easy and keeps it from rotting. You need to ferment for 2 weeks at lease so mine is not done but it looks good. I will update if something went horrible wrong. I used this basic recipe but without the juniper berries.INGREDIENTS:• 2 Medium sized heads Organic Cabbage, shredded• 1 Tsp Caraway Seeds• 1 Tsp Dill Seeds• 1 Tsp Juniper Berrys• Real Salt, salt shredded cabbage to desired tasteDIRECTIONS:1. Chop or grate cabbage, with or without the hearts.2. Sprinkle salt on the cabbage as you go. Salt pulls water out of the cabbage to create brine that allows it to ferment without rotting. About 2 Tbsp per 3 pounds of cabbage is a rough guideline, but add more or less to your liking.3. Use a masher to help pull the water out faster if desired.4. Combine your ingredients in your food fermentation kit and pack the cabbage down tight on all sides with the wooden masher.5. If natural brine does not cover the sauerkraut fully, add you own brine until the cabbage is fully submerged. About 1 Tbsp of salt per cup of warm water.6. Cap with airlock lid and place on counter and ferment for a two weeksThis is going to be a blast trying out different fermented foods. I love that they add natural probiotics into the foods. Easy to use and delicious food resulted!
Everything you need to get started pickling and fermenting is included in this kit. Considering everything that's inside, including even real salt and recipes, the price is amazing. I made chutney and pickles and kimchi, and they all came out perfectly, without any mold. After so many years of using too many antibiotics, I think all the good bacteria in my body was dead. Was having a lot of digestive issues and infections... doctor and nutritionist told me to take probiotic supplements... I started researching it, and discovered it's much better to ingest probiotics that occur naturally in food rather than in pill form. So I started fermenting, and I love it!

Pretty neat kit
Pretty neat kit. I buy local produce from the market and make my own sauerkraut. So much cheaper than buying pre-made kraut.

I ordered both this jar and one from Picklemeister. The quality was inferior in every way to the Picklemeister product. The jar had a micro-crack that was not evident until the fermentation began. I reached out to the company and they never answered me.

Good choice but important to check if it fits in your dehydrator.
Litle too big for my dehydrator but it's solid and works perfectly
